Going to watch our young lads for the first time tomorrow night. Apart from England's No 1 and Danny B anyone else worth keeping an eye out for?
Someone I know within the club said to watch out for a youngster called Jimmy Spencer?

I've heard good things about Jimmy Spencer also, although he's still a schoolboy so it tells you a lot about it his ability that he's mixing it with 18 year olds (three years older than him)
Nightingale is technically good. He's only a tiny lad but when he fills out and grows a bit he could push through into the first team
Heagney is a RoI youth international
As well Broadbent (who is the best of the lot IMO) and Smithies the other second year scolars are Jackson, Codman and Roberts (Killock is too old to play in this competition). Really if any of those three are going to get pro terms in the summer they need to be standing out for the academy

Danny Broadbent went to the same school as my son & daughter and also played for the same club Howden Clough JFC as my son, so well aware of him.
Yes I heard Jimmy Spencer is only a schoolboy playing up several years, so for him to be doing that he must be a fantastic player.
Im looking forward to seeing the youngsters play tonight.

Schooldboy, does this means he's 11 or 15?
Broadbent seems to be bagging a few, does anyone know how many he has scored in how many games? Where are town u18s in the league?

Forest must be poaching all top youngsters from county, mansfield etc by the look of that table

i findit really hard to judge how good our academy is by the league, does this mean forest will have some ace youngtsers in the nex few years or does it just mean they have more senior experienced young one sin their team.....

You've got to remember Town's academy are in that league position despite several of our team player regually in the reserves and so missing academy games at weekends
Then you have the likes of Killock, Smithies and Broadbent (the best three at this time) involved with the first team a lot this season also, again missing the academy games
Against Brum we should field our best 11

Birmingham have equalised in the 83rd minute. Does that mean a replay? or at this level do they go to extra time?

I was one of the 223 along with my daughter at the Icy Galpharm tonight. We thought Town had an excellent first half and could have been 2 or 3 ahead, but Birmingham shaded the second in what overall was an excellent game.
A frustrating second half as town hit the bar and in the same scramble put the ball against the post.
We where very impressed with the quality in the team and 2 or 3 players stood out. Overall Town deserved something from this game, but were cruelly denied.

We don't want to get too far in the competition and attract too much attention if they're any good.

Damn, glad they put in a good performance. Let's hope the 1st team can get revenge!! PG - Which players stood out? Im at work and dont have the A4 teamsheet in front of me but I thought No's 11, 2, 4 and 7 played well. I did not add Danny B or Englands No 1 in those comments as we all know they are both decent. Sorry can't be more precise than that at the mo, I will add names later.
