There's the usual debate (understandable) about our defence (joint worst in the division) but we're also not scoring enough goals at the other end of the pitch.
We've only scored 5 goals in 10 away games - a terrible record (only Luton are worse). Hopefully Jevons will help this but clearly something is not right.
The 3 wins have really papered over the cracks of our awful away form.

the truth is we've been crap so far this season... but Ritchie is slowly changing things round and building-up his side and we are start to look potentially better.... we still have a few weak links and the coaching is a bit suspect but I guess we will have to give it time (given our performance stats I don't know where the Board get their false optimism from - maybe just spin to fool the gullible)

And would you believe that is the extent of their ambitious plans? So what excuses will they come up with when we fail? Anyway, to get back on topic When we played down at Southend we went 4-5-1. Should we change formation for away games or should we stick to 4-4-2? I thought it was a mistake unsettling the side after our recent run of good form especially whent the team were just settling down and getting used to each other.

I'm not as concerned about the last two away games, as the previous thrashings. Against Southend we weren't great, but could well have got a point if Glennon hadn't been sent off. And against Leeds, it could have easily gone differently if they'd have had a man sent off and we hadn't had to rely on Smithies.
The next four games will shape our season, hopefully it was the last 2 games that were a blip and not the 4 before that.

the last two games were not a blip, more a continuation of the previous 18 months away form. i have seen us at blackpool, walsall, crewe, leeds, donny and northampton this season and we have been truly awful in all those games.
we are far too soft and spineless to pick much up away from home - even when we won at swansea - their captain said we were the worst team they played this season.
it doesnt really matter about the formation IMO - if the team dont challenge and get stuck in we will lose - simple.
cant see how we will change things around without adding some steel to the defence in january - god knows how mirfin and clarke are still our number one centre back pairing.
those two clowns must have played about 4 or 5 seasons together and still dont seem to have any understanding.

There were positives to take from the l***s performance but until we start defending better we'll not go anywhere.
Hopefully we will do better up front as we have more options.
2 goals in our last 4 league games says we're definitely not scoring often enough though.

I've not been away for nearly 2 years now, can't face it anymore. And i'm not the only one, we used to have such great away support.
I think i went to about a dozen away matches in about 18 months and saw Town score 2 goals! This was a bit of bad luck on my part cos i walked out of a few games early when they were losing (Chesterfield 3-0 down at half-time, ended 4-3, springs to mind).
Generally performances away have been shocking IN THE LAST 4 YEARS, even when a point or 3 have been sneaked. What can be done about it?
Fcuk knows!

we did actually look half decent in the first half against leeds, but the collapse in the 2nd half is simply unacceptable - especially against such fierce rivals - in fact - against anyone they are well paid professionals FFS!
we have been poor for years away from home, i cant actually remember a decent away performance thats how bad it is.
maybe we get one or two a season?
not good enough anyway.

One or two good away performances a season!
I wish I knew when they are gonna happen.
Everytime I've been in last few years i've wished i'd stayed in the pub by about 10 past 3. But even a day on the beer doesn't get me there at the moment.
Macclesfield 0-4, left at 20 mins when 2-0 down Chesterfield 3-4 left half-time 3-0 down Chelsea, don't know why but i'd had enough after 25 mins Brentford 0-2 utter garbage Cheltenham 1-1, Town couldn't even get 'up for it' for that one!
I could go on, thought i was the bad omen but it's still just as bad now!

Chelsea was one of the top away games of recent seasons. Tell me you didn't leave after 25mins?
Following Town away in the last promotion season wasn't that bad. We got good at defending leads. Oxford in particular was very funny with Sodje being the villain (in their eyes) and the hero.

"Chelsea, don't know why but i'd had enough after 25 mins" I am shocked by that Chelsea was a great occasion, at one point we looked like we might turn them over and the lads got a great salute at the end, not just by us but by Chelsea fans and Jose.

I do regret leaving early at Chelsea, (a bit pissed and the 'no smoking' rule wound me up).
But Chelsea were just playing with us, it really was a non contest as far as i could see, no way were Town ever going to turn them over, proved by the fact it only took Chelsea a few minutes to get back in front once Town had equalised. They could have scored 6 if they'd wanted to that day.

If we win the fa cup 3rd round game were in the last 32 arent we? Making us at least a top 32 club? We could be a full year ahead of schedual!
