Firstly I thought Town deserved to win - we created the majority of the chances and the few bits of quality football were produced by Town.
That said, it was largely a poor game by both teams. Very little composure on the ball which made for a very poor spectacle. There were some good performances today from certain individuals, but there were also some pretty poor ones. I thought Boothy, Clarke and Mirf were the pick of a mediocre bunch. Schofield showed some flashes of great skill and played some superb through balls, but as ever, he flitted in and out of the game. Collins, that great shot against the woodwork apart, was non-existant and how he stayed on the pitch I'll never know.
Today showed me how much Sinclair's ban has affected us. His absence means we lose out in two positions not one - right back and central midfield. Obviously we lose Sinclair, who has been performing well a right back (linking particularly well with Kamara), but we also lose Holdsworth from midfield. I wasn't convinced by Holdsworth at the start of the season, but I am coming round to CAHIRST's (sorry, specialun's) way of thinking. He sits deep and dictates the play by making himself available and keeping the ball moving with simple passing. His absence from midfield was very obvious today as our central midfield failed to put their mark on the game for long spells.
But 3 essential points in the bag, and we move on to the next game with much more confidence. Sinclair can't come back soon enough for me, but in his absence we might have to grind out a few more results like this one.

I'd agree with most of that. However, I'd definitely include Williams in the list of " pick of a mediocre bunch". I thought he had a very good game today, apart from his set-piece kicks to begin with. And I hope that Sinclair only comes back duly admonished for his indiscipline.

Yes, Robbies free kicks were very poor. A guy sat behind me kept saying that he has a sweet left foot. I did not see it today.
Defence looked shaky and the mid-field lacked bite, Wallwork got around but I do wonder about the red mist that seems to decend in him from time to time.
Three points but we need to tighten up in all areas.

A guy sat behind me kept saying that he has a sweet left foot. I did not see it today. Do you sit in front of me?! I was lauding Williams but his set pieces were very poor today. Wallwork. He can return. Looked a class above when he first came, creating time on the ball and adding a bit of composure, he's been consistently poor for the last month since then, he doesn't look interested, going in half-hearted for possession and lumping hopeful balls forwards where initially he was making a lot of possession attacking possesion. Worthington did more in 15 minutes today than Wallwork has contributed for the last month. Good looking come back.
