An early 70's kids tv series about a young lad whose dad had played for a professional club and how he was a promising footballer having difficulty settling in at his Junior team and was always fighting as the other kids was envious of him having a famous dad?
My friend and I was discussing this programme the other night. Neither of us could remember the name of it, also I claim that this kids dad (although an actor) was portrayed as a former famous player that had played for Leeds (my answer) or Huddersfield (my friend)
Beer and bragging rights awaits me if I can get the correct series name and also if it was Leeds or Huddersfield.

Not early 70s that one though, was mid 80s. There used to be a show from back in the day called Striker, is that the one?

I was thinking Striker too. Played in blue shirts with white and red stripe down one side of the front. Wally batty off last of summer wine was in it.

OMG Slaps/Jackosgal bloody hell you have got it. Not much on Google but definitely the one a big thank you. Thank you for the Jossy's Giants suggestion, it nearly had me as the team photo looked like it was from Gipton although is that not 80's/90's? We had a black and white telly in 1975 so all teams in them days played in either white or various shades of grey. God that's got me thinking! My first tv programme watched in colour was Dr Who with Tom Baker. The man from DER (remember them) had just installed the telly on Saturday teatime and that was just starting. I remember my first ever live game which was United v Liverpool at Old Trafford and when Martin Buchan missed the penalty my head was telling me to wait for the replay so I could see how bad the miss was. How stupid was I after all upto that point I had only ever seen games on Match Of The Day (my Saturday night treat) or the YTV Sunday programme that had Martin Tyler as commentator and usually had Barnsley v Sheff Wed on a straw covered pitch with an orange ball. Oops sorry started waffling a bit there
