A third question was put forward by the Patrons at yesterday's meeting, i.e.,
How will the Zone benefit Huddersfield Town financially
The answer given is:
Sporting Pride Community Trust will have income from running the various activities within The Zone and will also ,as a registered charity, be able to attract grants and donations under gift aid both of which are not available to the Clubs. Once surpluses are made, loan payments met and FIC financed, we will look to help the Club schemes such as Fans for the Future which are within the objects of the Trust, as well as appropriate other projects. All the equipment in The Zone has been purchased with the help of loans which have fixed repayment terms

Maybe the question should have been - Has The Zone been financed by money coming directly from HTAFC?

It wasn't even my question but I chose to publish it on here - in the interests of transparency. You've obviously got a fixation with the £50K Reserve and I'm not going to try to explain that yet again - not until there's something new to say.

Seems obvious to me that we will benefit financially from surpluses which will help fund "Fans of the Future" schemes "as well as appropriate other projects".
Nice one Bob.

Cheers for the update LP
My reading of it is that once the Zone is creating profit the surplus will go towards running Town and the Giants young fan program... fair play if we can have a free youth program (every club has one just that ours will be free)
Maybe if the Zone is really successful they can use the surplus to extend the scope of Fans for the Future, move into Wakefield, Calderdale etc, the footballing side not with the Giants side of it as those areas have their own sides

With the formation of a new organisation with the merger of the ST and SC I think the question of the £50k reserve needs to be re-addressed again. It is clear that there is a total lack of transparency when it comes to HTFC's finances and The Zone has been developed totally without any kind of information how it impacts on Town's finances.
IMO the Fans fot the Future scheme is just another way of preaching Giants Giants Giants to a footballing public.
As for any prfits, I thought the whole idea of charities was that they didn't make a profit and that any excesses were ploughed back into the charity. Fans for the Future is about making sure there are new fans to pay through the turnstiles of two private businessess - something I would think that The Zone's profits may not be allowed to be used for.

Giving away free tickets and shirts can be argued as a good cause though. Obviously the club hope they will become fans as a result but you could argue that the freebies were a charitable giveaway to young people

Your initial point is a valid one IF there is an amalgamation. It may still be valid if not because, coming on to your second point, we still don't have any details of the Storthes Hall funding application. I sincerely hope that such information will be forthcoming very shortly.

No personality clashes as far as i can see Blue. I just know that since FFA have talked to Davy Mr Pepper hasn't acted in the best interests of Huddersfield Town or even the groups he represents or the groups he's a member of.

That's a serious allegation, Bro, and I must challenge you to substantiate it.

Well Bob.. I'll start with. At the last meeting with Davy the members of the supporters groups that were present were all given a copy of The Yorkshire Post which included your article in it. I think it's fair to say they were all surprized at the content and were all in agreement that some of the content and comments regarding The groups were untrue. No group were going to the meeting to relay the message that we supported Adam Pearson's atempt to takeover the club, as you suggested. In fact quite the contrary. In a meeting 3 day's before, you , Myself, Mids and Carlton met in Turnbridge WMC and you were informed the meeting was about one supporters group going forward. And when you asked me about the piece in the Y.P i said the only thing i can think of that you could say was that any investment interest in the club is good at any stage. I said to you that if given the chance we would mention A.P and say it as FFA saw it and that we did. I also think it was a little curious why, when you knew where i was, that you rang me on my mobile phone half way through the meeting? Does that substantiate it or do you want a little more?

I've just re-read that piece and don't consider any of it was out of my own head. The one bit that WAS wrong was that the YP attributed my comments to me as a representative of the Patrons, which I asked to be corrected and that was done when they did another piece a few days later. In both cases I was trying to summarise what I had heard on the Saturday and read on DATM. None of it was about me, other than as a spokesperson. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and if you'd written that that was what you thought, rather than what you know, then it wouldn't have mattered. Perhaps we can consider this over now?
