Like the ex player thread
Only rules are that the player is still playing and at some point was linked with or played for Town (either academy or first team, inc on loan)...
For starters
John Terry Damien Duff James Beatie

Howz about Pav & Jeavons up front??? What a pair!!!! no not really. they are both similar players who lack aerial presence up front. and besides since leaving town pav has gone nothing. although a great player here in the past, i think that is where he belongs. it would have been brilliant for town to get one of the three mentioned above. develop them as players and make millions by selling them. we wouldn't be where we are now if we had done that.

I remember Micky Buxton trying to sign Nottinghan Forest reserve striker not long after he became manager at Town. Cloughie was going to sell him but then he had a load of injuries and need to play his unwanted reserve team striker. That season Garry Birtles went on to be a regular for Forest and played in the European Cup final. Now that really was one that got away.

We had agreed terms with Forest for Peter Birtles. He then scored 2 for them V Man U in the European Cup and that was that.

We brought him over to England, offered him a place, but Blackburn nipped in and signed him first. Apparently Duff wanted to sign for us but was talked out of it.

Who can forget the infamous Ron Yeats and Ian St.John? Didn't Davenport play for Forest before Man.Utd and was then an England international> He surely wouldn't of come to us then, mind you we did sign that great England international called Barham!!

Beattie was definitely offered to us on loan by Southampton at some point, not too sure whether a permanent deal was ever in the making though

Rumour had it Teddy Sheringaham was on his way when he fell into the reserves at United, when Bruce and Rubbery were about.
