Does it matter...? In the scale of things, no it doesn't matter much. But there is a choice, so it would be better to adopt the aesthetically pleasing over that which is not.

Yeah, lets get rid of this thread cos it doesn't matter, we all know how interesting this place would be if we just read how Bob from Leeds suggests Town should be implementing a 352 formation

To most people tradition does matter. Judging by responses on this thread it seems your view is in the minority.

If you read this SMJ my preference is for white shorts (not a very strong preference)
BUT far more important (and I've written to the club with this request for several seasons...) Please make the numbers VISIBLE so that us owd boogers with < 20/20 vision can identify the players (especially the new players.)

Town played in white shorts today and the whole strip looked absolute class. Town could have played in blue shorts as there was no colour clash with LO, so I wonder why they switched? Can clubs alter their strip during a season? Load of Rubbish!! Ignore him Mr Jarvis..... Looks miles better as it is wi blue shorts!!!!!!!!!! Sing come on you Blues, not come on you whites!! White shorts = majority of kit being white, naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

white shorts cos it makes us look like huddersfield town and not a load of other clubs. Simple as that.
( black socks too preferably!)

I remember going into Sugg Sport in the Packhorse for a replacement Town subutteo team after my knee had killed Craig Maskell, et al. They were all out of Town, so I was palmed off with Kilmarnock (blue shorts). Never felt the same, and never will.
On Subutteo memories alone, white shorts please (I eventually painted the shorts white with tippex).

But Brighton always used to wear blue and white stripes, blue shorts and white socks so technically we looked more like Brighton last week than yesterday Yeah, on and off from the '70s. And up 'til the '40s. they wore light blue and white stripes, white shorts and black socks, so if we return to our "traditional" colours, I guess we're to blame for stealing their traditional kit...

Mr Jarvis, that kit looks the smartest it has for a long time!! In my opinion! Too many "don't like change" people
Last time we had blue shorts, we went up!!!

oh well, if we're not bothered about looking like a town team, lets play in a deep red shirt, white shorts and black socks then like Roma, cos Ive always thought that was a smart kit. Plus statistically red is the colour of winners in football terms, so double bubble.

Town should do what a lot of clubs do & sell both. They should sell the white shorts they wore on Sat via the club & on line shop - fans can please themselves then which they buy.
If the home shorts are white (as they normally are) they should sell a limited number of the change home shorts (blue). Jobs a good un!!
I also think they should have a 'kitmans sale' like some of the other clubs do & sell off all the surplus first team & reserves kit & training gear at the end of the season. Any money made would go back into the club, or academy etc etc rather than give it away or bin it.

The last time we wore blue shorts we made a mess of automatic promotion and had to settle for the playoffs, which we eventually won at Wembley, whilst wearing White shorts!

Does anyone actually buy the shorts these days? I'm not bothered about what's on sale and I'm sure anyone that wants some could easily find some white shorts around. Anyway, anyone that wears a full replica kit completes with shorts and socks is already enough of a fashion disaster to worry about what colour the shorts are :iconlol:

White shorts only and always - with white socks actually - but then as I started watching in the 60's then that is what we wore then and I will be influenced by that. Mind you, what was good enough for Ray Wilson, Jimmy Nich, Denis Law and Frankie is good enough for me.
Oh , and can we go back to Red and Black Stripes Away from home please?

who are we kidding anyway, it'll probably be Gola or Bukta ! Heres hoping! Bit of a traditionalist myself. Sod the white shorts, I want the kit made by Super League and the away shirt to be made up of the most rancid, lurid colours imaginable. Colours that make a cheap kebab shop menu look stylish and a goalkeepers shirt that looks like someone has vomited into a kaleidoscope. Come on SMJ, you know it makes sense.
