But this is pants. Too complicated. Too unfriendly as a user etc etc etc blah blah. I used to saved the old forum onto my desktop, logon, see what everyone was upto/rumours/crap etc post or not and that was it really. This is a minefield and a boring one at that. Too many chiefs..bring back Geoff . And no!! i couldnt do it before you ask.

It's ace talking about footy all the time Mav though.
You've even got a choice of which footy match you may wish to talk about too. With other like minded footy fans who wanted to talk about that very same footy match.
You just got to remember not to talk about the wrong footy match in the wrong place...

Non - techie Luditte here. Quite happy with the previous board for many years & missing a number of features & faces (WLOD, CAHIRST etc etc.) I also (slightly) prefer this fprmat - seems a lot quicker to use and, crucially, accepts swear words which as Town fans we are likely to use on occasion!

CAHIRST is here, but he changed his username to something else.
And me and numbers have already said our piece about certain features on this site !It's not important but sometimes boars like these can get quickly out of control. Like a chef making a fancy meal with 15 different flavours.

I don't think it's any co-incidence that I have Xmas completely under control this year.
Pressies bought and all clients drinkies delivered.
Be ironic if this gets moved to 'Off Topic'!

Got to say I'm with Mav, numbers and Arnhem with regards to the over-complication of something which really should be simple. The threads dedicated to games are an absolute ball-ache IMO and I just ignore them as I do the 'off-topic' board which may seem daft given that it's the off-topic stuff I prefer. But I prefer it when a Town subject goes off-topic rather than just starting off-topic for the craziness of it all The games threads - I couldn't give a t*** what fellow posters think the score or attendance is going to be and it was pretty easy to avoid those threads on the old board (and for those who do like them, it was easy to find them). Likewise, I used to enjoy getting back from the game and reading the views but now I'd have to sift through all the pre-game predictions and banter along with team news and then all the '1-0 ... 1-1 ... Skarz has been brought on for Schofield' etc. etc. in the hope that some views have come up. The biggest drawback here is the lack of interaction with opposition fans - sure, I can look on their boards and see their views but it's not the same when we're not discussing them together (the L**ds game doesn't really count as it was hardly interesting banter ) but I know there's little we can do about that. Still, I'm really enjoying all the pictures of how to get your kit clean. They get funnier with every reincarnation and repeated viewing I am officially a grumpy, old man ;D

ta Just off to get my Birmingham tickets - hopefully in upper-tier so may get a report out of that. I have plans for the site in the new year but there's all sorts of things going on at the moment that could change those plans. (and no, it's not to introduce the forum/messageboard again )

Like a chef making a fancy meal with 15 different flavours. Unlike the old DATM some of the boards on here were accessible via a link which brought up a new page. This format doesn't support that hence some of the old DATM features as a seperate board. There's always the new Rivals site. I can't remeber why people left that now if it was so popular

It's a shame that some folk choose to slate the fellas who have given their time to setting this BORED up. I suppose the same could be said of the Supporters Trust. Still, I'm really enjoying all the pictures of how to get your kit clean. They get funnier with every reincarnation and repeated viewing I am officially a grumpy, old man ;D Know where ya coming from Danny but the alternative is unpin everythign and have everythign on 1 board. You really want 12 threads with 1-0!!!! etc? Just keeps it a little easier to find what you want. If people dont like the other boards dont use em, simple as... As stan said the other boards were set up cos people asked for the old features that were on the original DATM site and thats the only way we could do em... As we've shown in the past if people suggest stuff we do our best to do it and changes have been made to try to make things better. All of us admins work full time so have done this off our own backs and aren't the jobsworths we're being made out to be(well im not anyway ) I make a lot of money doing what I do full time so quite frankly have better things to do than move threads about... This was simply set up as an alternative to that awful rivals site. I aint after praise for this and If someone can do owt better then Id be more than happy to move , i simply want somewhere to continue the banter with fellow town fans. RANT OVER ;D please respond if you disagree with any of this

The thing is - 12 threads saying 1-0 are easier to avoid than 12 consecutive posts saying 1-0 in the game thread ... so, yes, even if it does mean scrolling further down. I would guess that the scrolling I have to do every single time to get past the game threads far exceeds the scrolling I'd do to get past 12 threads saying 1-0 The 'features' boards are fair enough - it's the off-topic and game threads that I've picked up on. I can't see why people couldn't just start a matchday thread anyway if they're going to be listening to the game on the radio and tell people to post in there but I'm not here telling you guys what to do - just suggesting how I feel about the current format. Like you say, people can take it or leave it. My post count speaks for itself as to whether I'm getting involved in the discussions but I do read regularly, just can't be arsed with the jumping around required to keep up with conversations at the mo.

If you look at the 'post count' on the 'Off topic', 'Supporters Trust' and 'England' boards then I'm sure it could be easily accommodated on one board.
With the benefit of a 'Subjects' heading for each post it's like a load of different boards where people can pick and choose which thread to read. Difference being that more people get the choice of whether to read topics that aren't about which players we've had in the past who we wish were here now.
