It's been pinging around Twitter again last night, so probably worth linking in here again. The blog that I wrote on this issue less than two years ago. It's amazing how far we've come as club since then, but the issues off the field are still there re: controlling stake in the stadium. I still stand by what I said about HD1 too. I understand the view that the investment would help the town at first, but I don't believe it is sustainable. Imagine if that money was spent on developing the town centre instead - we have one of the most beautiful town centre's in the country architecturally, we should be emphasising that, not letting it fall apart and building a Lego town down by the canal. www.thricechampions.co.uk/blog/2015/8/21/zsbk5c6whqxwqt1abj8m12eljt5sdvI agree. I couldn't believe what my niece was telling me the other day about bus gates in Huddersfield. Who the hell came up with that idea. A long time ago there was a plan to put a glass roof over key streets in Town so you could walk around without getting wet. They should have cheap parking, a shuttle bus service around Town and decent rent prices for the store owners. It's the only way to combat everything moving out of the center. Would you rather park a mile from the store you are going to, pay five quid for the privilege, and then get soaked walking there, OR go to an out of town store in a retail park and park for free within 20 yards of the front door? Not rocket science is it. |

You obviously do not know your coffee shops !!we have some top notch ones .House of Fraser is without doubt over rated and over priced. "Seek and ye shall find quality " I agree we have a lot of charity shops but would rather see them than empty spaces .My wife has bought some beautiful designer clothes from a few of them and isn't too proud to say so when complimented on her wearing them. |

It's a white elephant, let's be honest, it'll never happen. Had enough money wasted on it already, if only what was given to "the artists impression" and whoever's salary it is to dream up these ideas. We have a dying Town centre and plenty of empty space that's closer to the few remaining Town Centre businesses, owned by local people and independent spots that offer something different other than a waggama, Five Guys or Nandos that are available in any other Town in the Country already. HD1 would complete the 'retail triangle', with Great Northern Retail park and Phoenix retail park a stones throw away. |

Speaking of white elephants dreamt up by Conman Ken, I'm in one of those Huddersfield Now and Then FB groups and someone posted some old pictures of Woodfield Park. One poster said it was going to be Fartowns new training centre "as soon as they could get the finance". Surely Ken can afford it. I checked back and it seems to be 2 years since Kennys comic, The Unexamined, even mentioned the project 🤔. I wonder how soon there'll be houses built down there 😂 |

It’s definitely a lot of waffle, he seems full of it, given his comment about “people 25 years ago saying the stadium wouldn’t be built”...was there a SINGLE person saying that 25 years ago when they just had to open their eyes and see it was actually built ??! |

Yes it is, I don't whether it's still owned by the bizzies or not though, I suspect not. |
