Could you imagine ken bates on a bike or doing this,In fact could you imagine any other chairman doing all the things Dean has done This guy is an inspiration. Yes I could - but he'd have all the kids singing his anthem 'you've got to pick a pocket or two' and put them to work

Has anyone got a reply from the commercial@htafc.com email? Just wondering how we make the donation... I think you just have to pledge at the moment and no doubt there will be an announcement as to where you have to send the money soon. A fantastic amount raised, so far. Well done everyone especially Sir Dean of Mirfield, what a great club we support! :udders:

Depends where they're buying tickets... it would buy over 1300 of the cheap tickets, or 1000 in the Stretford End.

If there was any justice in the world then we could all go to Old Trafford safe in the knowledge that Town will get promoted because everything on and off the pitch at our club deserves to be rewarded.
Clearly that can't be guaranteed, but let's hope the big man upstairs can do the right thing :udders:
Huddersfield Town and its fans are immense :udders: :appl:

Just to echo a comment above, the excitement from the kids today when they found out that they'd be able to go was unbelievable (Jeff!), especially from those would had already said that they'd love to be able to go but knew that nobody would/could take them.
Absolutely great gesture from Deano, other businesses and the people from on here.

Grand-daughter came home from School today.. Apparently her school have been given 40 tickets.. They have been doing several questionaires over the last few days and some of the children have taken letters home to their parents. Probably asking if they are alright to go. The pupils who didn't make it are well chuffed that they are to be invited to an home game if they are interested.

The thing that makes the difference for me is that Dean Hoyle has invited others to contribute and make it a proper community thing rather than say there's 25k from me I'll fund it all.
I'm sure he's not the first to have done something like this but I'll bet he's amongst a minority who have done it as a simple honest gesture and not as part of any marketing/profile strategy...
Hope they all have a day to remember in more ways than one...

I had a call from a mate of mine this morning who is a Hartshead based businessman asking what he needed to do to support taking under priveledged kids to Old Trafford on Sunday. He took the info rang the club and has just rung me back telling me he has paid for 52 kids entrance and coach travel to OT for them....I've never been as proud to be a Town fan as i am right now.

Ever since Dean Hoyle took over, the feel good factor has grown and grown, his passion for the club and generosity in the community is fantastic, we are lucky to have him and nobody deserves success more than he does.

Puff! Reminds me of him going in for tackles! Oi. I didn't get called Nasty Nigel on the football pitch for nothing you know! (although in my defence it was usually just because my brain is quicker than my legs - its amazing how many times you can use the "I got there as soon as I could ref" line and a little smile and get 'let off'!).
