Should be open in time for people tonight by the looks of things: UPDATE Man Fallen From Bridge, M62 J29 (Lofthouse) Update - 12pm This is an update in relation to the man who fell from a bridge onto the M62 earlier this morning. The man, in his 40's, is currently stable in LGI. Currently lanes 3 and 4 westbound and lane 3 eastbound are closed for scene investigation work. All other lanes are flowing. All lanes are due to re-open in approximately 30 minutes. Motorists are again thanked for their patience. Anyone with any information is asked to contact City & Holbeck CID on 0845 60 60 606. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, 25 October, 2011 Police area advising motorists to avoid the M62 at Junction 29 (Lofthouse) if possible, following reports of a man falling from a bridge at around 10.15am. The man is believed to have fallen onto the westbound carriageway. Both the westbound and the eastbound carriageways are closed, while the air ambulance lands. That is the one I had in mind; I was thinking how the hell did he survive the fall  It is very sad that anyone should reach such depths, but as noted above a razor & bath would be more appropriate for ones last act. We dont want to see it, be caught in the traffic around it and we certainly dont want to go with you should you land on us! |

I had the misfortune to drive past seconds after a woman threw herself off a bridge at Birstall about ten yrs ago???
Fortunately I was in the middle lane and she was in the outsidelane but could see her being hit by a couple of cars that couldn't avoid her and were subsequently pulling across to the hard shoulder. Not a particularly pleasant thing and only hope the chap in question today receives the right support. It was too late for that poor woman...
Saving grace today was that people could probably see him whereas it was about 8PM in the winter back then & unavoidable for the equally poor buggers who hit her...

I'd piss myself laughing if it was found out that he wasn't actually trying to top himself, but he actually, genuinely fell off through sheer stupidity and clumsiness :iconlol:

I know a lad that jumped off the muti-story car park & lived.
The lad had serious pyscological problems & ended up in a far worse state than he was before, living in a hospital for the rest of his life a vegatable.
