And Jackson, Hollands and Kermogant who've got 16 league goals between them this season. Think I read that Jackson has done his hamstring. Just to confirm what you have said: www.cafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10267~2521653,00.html

Yeah lee was immense against sodje yesterday wasn't he? :/ are we giving him the credit for Jordans two goals? Not at all, Jordan was brilliant yesterday and both his goals were all his own work, with a nice cross from Hunt as an assist. Lets be honest though, Notts County offered nothing and were terrible. When Lee plays defenders tend to give him special attention which allows Rhodes to drift in and out of space easier. Yeah Right So Picture this..................... 2 central defenders in the changing room before a game against Town, the conversation goes like this........... D1 - "that Rhodes lad's scoring for fun, we'll have to keep our eyes on him today" D2 - "F**k that mate forget about Rhodes Alan Lee's playing"

Our skipper JJ has done his hamsting and therefore is very unlikely to feature and if it is a tear he could be out until January. The thing is with our board there are people on there doing a "Wendys" as they call it, making out we are too big for this league as a laugh. Any big time thoughts have been beaten out of us over the last six seasons in which we have surged downwards. Do I think we are likely to go up? Yes but it is far from certain, I also think we will strangthen in January and at the moment I would rather be us than anyone else in the league, due to our lead. There is a long way to go and next week's game is massive but will not decide anybody's season.
For our part everytime I think we have a tricky game ahead we seemingly manage to win, that breeds confidence and I wish you all good luck, from the 29th onwards.

What happened on Saturday yet again backs up what I say, Lee's ongoing battle with Sodje allowed Rhodes to drift in and out of space, Pearce couldn't pick him up because he had to sit in behind Sodje, and Rhodes benefitted because of it.

Deluded Rubbish 2 CB's each pick up one of the strikers, simple fact! Rhodes first goal, he simply out jumped (timing and technique) Pearce, without my I add, lifting so much as an arm as AL would. 2nd Goal JR chased a lost cause, it should have been a fairly easy ball for Pearce to deal with, but becuase of the preassure of Rhodes chasing him he fumbled it. Fact 1 - Niether goal came as a consequence of 2 deffenders "having" to cope with AL. Fact 2 - Rhodes movement was simply too good for an average L1 CB like Pearce Lets get this straight, I dont disslike AL and he does contribute, but to elevate his performance to the level that some people on here do is simply crazy. And by the way I have been watching Town on a weekly basis for around 45 years.

And by the way I have been watching Town on a weekly basis for around 45 years. I've already said that both of Jordans goals were his own work (and a nice cross from Hunt), so don't know what your point is there. Basically what you're saying is that for 90 minutes one defender stands on Lee while the other defender stands on Rhodes? I'm sure that would work out very well if every team just decided to just man mark every striker the opposition had, it doesn't work that way! Lee is a handful for defenders and we play the ball to him very direct, meaning usually the opposition will put someone on him and just man-mark him for 90 minutes - Notts C and Sodje as an example. Sometimes though teams will sit off him, let him receive the ball and see what we can do once we have it - Scunthorpe and Duffy as an example. However, most teams tend to go with option 1 which means Lee is man-marked while Rhodes gets to drift about a little more. I'm not saying defenders ignore Rhodes because they don't, but the way we play dictates that Lee is the one who receives the ball direct so teams have to concentrate on him before the ball reaches Rhodes.

And by the way I have been watching Town on a weekly basis for around 45 years. Strange how things can be seen differently. Second goal was JR closing down a defender no more than 10 yards away from him (surely any player would be doing that - even Alan Lee). Pearce simply slipped(hopefully thanks to the new sprinkler system) and presented the ball to Rhodes. The 3-4 seconds after that were pure class from Rhodes with pace, composure and a fantastic finish. Fully agree with the comment regarding some people view of Alan Lee's performance. Thought he was less effective than in the last few games I have seen him play but he was given no protection at all from the referee (although for a big man he does end up on his backside a lot - but there were a fair few occasions on Saturday when he should have had free-kicks and was given nothing). Its a bit like suggesting that it's PC's fault when Anthony Kay drops clangers as has been suggested by some posters on here (For what its worth thought the defence looked more solid on Saturday).

Who's at fault when Peter Clarke makes his regular cock ups? Answer anybody playing alongside PC!

We all know that we play better against the good sides, but the Cocknees dont know that. All we have to do is keep BWP out of the game!! and the points are ours. Simples. And Jackson, Hollands and Kermogant who've got 16 league goals between them this season. That Hollands is a bit handy - but he's also a bit of a twat as well... he was the one who kicked the ball back at Pelts for a throw-in at Bournemouth in the play-off 1st leg... then turned his back and ran away.......

Surprised if point 1 is a genuine majority feeling. Powell doesn't seem the type of manager that sends a team out to kick anyone out of the game. So far they look a genuine football side and that should play to our advantage, we get more space to get it on the deck and play. No Lee to lump it down the middle to, use wide players properly and we can get something from this game for sure.

Normally I happy for any opponent to be full strength, but I can't say I'm disappointed if Jackson is out on Monday. The guy really can deliver quality service from the left, not to mention goals of his own. Set up for a brilliant contest nonetheless. Only a shame its not on Saturday with a decent Town following. I fully expect both teams to go up automatically irrespective of the result on monday, probably 10 points clear of the pack.
