Hi everyone, Charlton fan here...I'm 64 and come in peace. Lived in the town in the late 60's and still have great affection for it and it's people. Sorry about some of our fans but there are twats on all forums. I'm here that I can laugh along with you when we both go up and the Wendy's don't...yes I do go to their forum and boy have they got a problem with us. Think it will be tough for us on Monday because of JJ's hamstring and a bitch that it's not on a Saturday, but we all have to bow down to the God that is Sky. Hope you don't mind me cluttering your board but at least at my age I'm never going to get out of my tree...after all, it's only a football match...
May the best man team win!
Happy days

Always liked going to the Valley cracking London away day 2nd only to Orient. Can't wait for the game Monday and hope we can come away with at least a point, it'll be a tough one that's for sure.

I remember going to the Valley about 81, in the old third. It had just reopened thanks to the efforts of their fans. The huge old concrete banking was still there, complete with a few stubborn weeds.
We won 2-1 after a Kindon cracker. Paul Walsh upset the Charlton manager, Lenny Lawrence, before the game, saying that town were the best team in the league.
Charlton were promoted though, and Town just missed out. I think it was the last season before 3 points for a win were introduced and, needless to say, we'd have gone up under the new 3 point system. In fact I think we'd have won the title.
Does our luck ever change?
I'm looking forward to Monday night. Great stadium.

I think we're going to get our long-term revenge by winning 7-6.

I've only been once, 2-1 defeat in about 1996 I think. Remember it seemed like they'd plonked the ground in a residential area, and the in-ground PA speakers were bloody superb, best I've ever experienced. We were shit, since after all it was a Horton era away game. I think their winner was a 25 yard header though, bit unlucky.
More than happy for them to finish second as long as we finish first. :iconlol:
