hello, I've been having a massive issue with my internet, which is provided by virgin media. It is the fibre optic broadband of up to 20mbs speed, but 95% of the time it is less than 1mbs. Do I have the right to get my money back/get an engineer in because they're not providing what i asked for? and do you have any ideas about how i should go about doing this? cheers for any help

Do a proper broadband speed test and compare that to what your exchange is capable of.. Virgin will say that they will provide you with speeds UP TO 20 mb/s but if your exchange isn't capable then you're fooked. However, it's more likely to be a line fault or issue with your router so give em a ring.

If you are fibre optic then you should get what it says on the tin. I have the 10mb package and whilst sometimes - very VERY occasionally - it drops down to 5mb at peak periods I normally get between 9mb & 11mb. It once went right down and I complained and they soon sorted it out. Give them a bell and let them know.
