Taking delivery of a netbook tomorrow, and I want to be "safe" right from the off.
Any suggestions for decent, and, perhaps more importantly, free anti virus / spyware. Would love some legit site suggestions.
Cheers.

Appreciated. Any specific recommendations? Kaspersky for your AV. Spyware remover, a lot of the free ones tend to miss the odd thing here and there... Unlike AV there's no problem having a few of them... Malware Bytes is probs the best from my experience.

AVG Free - runs in the backgound and can be customised etc for scheduled scans. Picks up all sorts of unwanted tracking cookies.
Avast has been suggested. Personally I had a problem with it as when it wanted to update or wanted you to upgrade etc - ie something that was not an urgent warning - it would just 'pop up' and buggar up what you were doing.
That's a personal opinion on the interface but otherwise it did what it said on the can.
