Do you have microsoft office? If you do it'd be easy to set it up in outlook.

Not quite following you to be honest... Is it a hotmail address? If so you'd have the same emails come through to both if you used live... You could always download Mozilla Thunderbird... www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/Quite a neat little email client.

What kind of email address is it? Some email servers will download emails to your email client and then delete it from the server - hence it'll only download to one or the other... I'd probs remove the email on Vista (although you can save your emails if you need them and export them to the new one.) and set it up using something like Mozilla Thunderbird on your Windows 7 machine.

Someone is trying to over complicate things.....
What difference does the client make in this instance?
He needs to remove the settings from the vista PC. Problem solved.
To remove a Windows Mail account
1. Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Mail.
2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Accounts.
3. Click the account you want to remove, and then click Remove.

Correct but in the event you ever launch the old email client then it will download any emails that are sat on the server waiting to be downloaded. Better to be safe and remove mail profile from the vista PC and remove this risk completely. Or you can even configure both profiles (Vista and Windows 7) to use IMAP (Instead of POP) and then you can have a copy of the emails on both machines.

Does Virgin support IMAP? I had a similar problem and I set up one (slave) computer to leave the mail on the server. I could read it on the slave but I actually downloaded it to the master. However - I am raidly falling out with Virgin and am slowly migrating all mt mail to a Googlemail account. IMAP and read it anywhere.
