I'm not an expert or anything, but my itunes has been playing up a bit recently. I have to sync everything to put it onto the ipod. Instead of just dragging it to the ipod after converting it. And sometimes it just deletes all my stuff. It might be worth you getting the latest update for itunes or a previous update that worked for you on your old computer.

Go on to your iTunes preferences, and make sure that the default music folder is were your music all is. I had this similar problem, so I moved all my music into a new folder called 'iTunes' in My Documents, and made that the default folder in iTunes preferences.
