I lost my usb stick and needed something to save a film onto to watch as part of my english classes this week..... so i thought it would be a bright idea to use my external hard drive which all my data is backed up on as i was in a rush. So plugged the hard drive into the schools computer in each of the classrooms where i have lessons. When i got home i plugged it back into my laptop. A while later my anti-virus put everything on the ext hard drive into the virus vault because it said it had unknown virus win32. I ran a virus scan on my laptop and it also had the same virus. Since then this win32 virus thing keeps popping up everywhere even though the antivirus doesn’t detect it anymore when i do a scan. I also downloaded this download.cnet.com/Win32-Conficker-Worm-Removal-Tool/3000-2239_4-10911654.html and it also doesn’t seem to detect anything even though the resident shield kept picking it up. I have now just restored all windows files from a backup and i seem to be able to access the internet again. Is there anyway i can get the data on my external hard drive back? (everything is in virus vault atm) Should i even plug it into my laptop anymore? Will my laptop be fixed now? it still seems very slow and not quite right

Hi, I think I might have this.
It seems to be randomly re-starting my pc. I can't access the internet on it either... Have tried running something from Symantec on it but not to any sucess...
Have tried runnin Ariva as well and nothing is getting picked up, short of reformating and losing all my data (which i don't really want to do) anyone got any ideas?

System restore it to when it was alright!! Virus scan it and spyware it; with the latest updates. It might just be corrupted files.
