I'm in the market for a new laptop. Apparently I need lots of memory, high RAM spec (probably about 2Gb) and a fast processor.
Any advice? Budget in the region of £500.

Thanks The kind of laptop you need will be determined by what you want it to do? Gaming?? Masses of RAM etc etc What do you want it to do? |

Incidentally what you want it to do will directly affect cost.
If you want it for Graphic Design for example you need a lot of RAM and a powerful graphics card.
Naturally this will push the price up.

Not gaming, nowt special at all really. Just web browsing and music/film downloading.

Laptops Direct have been mentioned and i have used them when im not too worried about spec. for customers. Ill drop you a PM later. |

I've made a laptop up on thier, that matches with the ones on laptopsdirect, and it came out about £40 cheaper.

got mine from tesco... ive no idea about this techno babble but its HP and it was only £379
reading from the box it has 1.9ghz dual core something, 2048MB of DDRambo or something... and a screen and keyboard, which come in handy

i got this spec laptop for £399.99 local shop Acer core 2 duo t5450 2gb ddr ram 160gb hdd 15.4" Crystalbrite screen dvdrw card reader web cam 4 usbs Vista home premium wireless 10/100/1000 modem I thought that was a bargain + ive got someone who knows what they are on about when it goes tits up, isnt always about price  |
