Whenever I try to use internet explorer to view some sites I have a problem if there is any flash media content ie YouTube as I get a message saying that I have javascript turned off. I know I haven't as I have checked it and my security settings aren't any different as to what they were before. Has anyone got any ideas what the problem could be? My OS is XP Pro with SP3 fully updated and I have IE7 fully updated.

Find the "Internet Options" option in the menubar of your browser (it's probably located in the Tools menu). Click on the "Security" tab. Make sure the "Internet" globe icon is highlighted. Click on the "Custom Level..." button to bring up the security options for your browser. Search through the menu for the "Active scripting" option. Make sure "Enable" is selected. Click the "OK" button. Close this window and click the "Refresh" button of the page requiring Javascript.
Copied and pasted from the Internet, which is worded in a better way than I tried!

Done all that Dale, no matter how many times I do it still the same problem. Disable, enable it again, re-load Flash player etc. I have other browsers but I hate being defeated by nagging little problems like this

you get this error message, it means that you either have JavaScript turned off in your browser, or you need the latest version of the Flash player. to enable JavaScript, click your browser: Select Tools > Internet Options. Click on the Security tab. Click the Custom Level button. Scroll down to the Scripting section. Select Enable for Active Scripting and Scripting of Java Applets. Click OK. Select YES if a box appears to confirm. Click OK. Close window. Reload page. Still doesnt work??Try completely uninstalling the Flash Player, and then reinstalling the most recent version. For instructions about how to "completely" uninstall a Flash Player, read this Adobe Help article. kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=1If you don't have a Flash player installed or you have just uninstalled the Flash player, download and install the latest Adobe Flash Player, which is available at the Adobe Flash Player Download Center. Clear your browser cache and cookies on your computer. Still doesnt work??Temporarily disable pop up blocking software installed on your computer to test. Allow YouTube.com as a trusted site in your Firewall software. Ensure other applications like Quicktime, iTunes, Real Player, or Windows Media Player aren't set as the default streaming application, as this might affect the video player. Still doesnt work??Sod Ya...Im going to bed!!

Well it seems there was a problem with the Flash player software. Version 9 works ok in IE but not version 10. Thanks for the help Dale and Waterloo1815.
