I know I should really post this on the general forum but not sure if many people read that. I just scanned my laptop and AVG has picked up a virus I've got which is Trojan horse Generic5.KJF. AVG isn't giving me an option to repair it and I'm not sure what to do. Any computer whizzes that can help me?

Thanks BBB, sorry I had to go out earlier so couldn't reply. Yes I had installed PPMate, I've uninstalled it and run a scan from your website. I'll run another AVG scan tomorrow and see what happens.
Thanks again for your advice.

PPMate causes false positives. Its a piece of software that allows streaming of television from the internet (like a media player). It hails from China or from one of the South East Asian countries. Note: The link i showed you requires to to upload the file for scanning 1. Update your AVG Edition and run the AVG Edition Complete Test again. 2. If you suspect a file to be a false positive. Test the file at virusscan.jotti.org and if it is a false positive, archive (zip, arc, tar etc) the file using a password and email a copy to virus@grisoft.com with a brief description as well as the password you used to archive it with. 3. If it is a false positive , turn off hueristic scanning for the time being. 4.When Grisoft adjusts the virus defintions you can turn it back on. 5.If turning off Hueristics still doesn't allow access to the file while testing and emailing disable the resident shield temporarily but remember to re-enable it afterwards.

FYI of all the AV solutions only AVG and Norman flag it as a risk.
It may be false positive by some scanners when they found this as malware, so you should judge it by yourself.
But my professional opinion is you are okay.

Thanks BBB. For my own protection I've added the spyhunter software. AVG is now updated and I've done a scan and all is clear. Cheers x
