Thought they were absolutely superb tonight. Couldn't live with them at times. However they were a cynical bunch and its something we will have to get used to in this league. Taking 3 minutes to get off the pitch when subbed, standing over freekicks, handling the ball on the floor and the funniest of all a diving rugby tackle on Jordan trying to take a throw in quickly. He should have been sent off for that.. :iconlol: :ranting:

Jeez I like this championship malarkey.

We're still 3 or 4 players light if we want to get up to Forest's standard.

Thought Forest looked very good tonight and for me they looked a lot better than Cardiff did on Friday, they look a good side all the way through the team and I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a push for the playoffs this season. That said, the timewasting etc did get irritating - what the hell was the hugging in the middle of the pitch about during the substitution : :

I hope to chuff not every team in the Championship is as good as they were tonight. McGugan was class and we should have lost by 2 or 3. Which made equalising in the last minute even sweeter. : :

Forest were impressive, I thought Reid and Blackstock in particular were a level above anyone we had in our team while their defence coped with Rhodes and Novak with ridiculous ease. How we managed to go in level at half time I don't know, but they were deserved winners until O'Driscoll decided to change what had been working for an hour when they scored.

Played some cracking football on had pace all over pitch, Mcgugan was different gravy aswel very good player. Thought we looked better when we went back to what worked against Cardiff with the 3 man midfield as we kept the ball better.

It's a hell of a lot easier against the likes of Wycombe. : : :drunk: But nowhere near as much fun. : : : : If a few 'supporters' around me, lower their expectations (apparently we let them play too much and made them look like Barcelona :spaz: ) it will be even better.

The main thing is for these players is learning to play for each other its pretty much a new squad, and I think we will only get better. Trial and error! Utt

We were in the heritage suite tonight, which was an awesome experience in Itself and 3 of the lads are forest fans so some really good banter.
I have to say though, we were shown how to play football tonight by a far better team and we were not much of a threat.
But we stuck at it and got a bit of luck at the end which was good considering what happened on Friday night.
I thought Scans was ace but Dixon never learned with that ball over the top, he seemed too narrow, possibly trying to cover centre backs?
Concern for me was bringing wardy on at 80 mins which was 10 mind too late, Novak never has been and never will be a winger.
Overall though a better match to watch and also, reasonable officials instead of the dross we used to get in league 1!

OP I agree with on most points & a lot of the responses too.
After a terrific display on Friday, I thought our midfield looked overrun & tired tonight. Personally, felt Clayton stood up well in a tough match as Norwood & Southern succumbed.
Andy Reid was just class & as fit as he ever was.
McGugan (who I've always liked as a player) & Guedioura were both quality.
Championship football is back for Town & its 100 mile an hour & high quality.
Every single game.
I love it!

It will be interesting to watch them again on the telly on Friday night away at Bolton, a strong, relegated side.
It will perhaps give us another yardstick to gauge what we are up against this year.
If they continue to impress then we can breathe somewhat easier than we will if Bolton win comfortably.

On the radio it said that Town hadn't been in the Championship for 11 years, so was it me who had just become acustomed to Div1 football, or were Forest excellent.
I can't remember playing a team in the championship who were as good as Forest, their midfield especially Reid, was a different class (Were Clayton, Norwood & Southern playing) everybody in their team were pinging 60 -70 yd pin point passes, (even Camp)
I thought Forest would be an average Championship team, but if that's the standard we're in for a bloody long slog.

Agree that they looked a class outfit and played some great stuff, they will be near the top at the end of the season as will Cardiff, tough start for us but hopefully we will improve as the team gels. The standard of football in 2 games so far as been a million miles better than league 1 and every game will be a strong test, can't wait for Saturday . UTT

It was the little shoulder nudges on our players just before the ball arrived that pissed me off the most. Usually on the blind side of the referee although the linesman should have seen it.The cleverness behind it made me chuckle though.

I think he needs some credit for that.(Forest were the best team seen at Town for years though) : : : :

Blatant cheating or professionalism as they seem to have termed it for the last 20 yrs. Town are not immune to these tactics but it seems the higher you climb, the more you have to lower your 'fair play' ethics... Shame that some Ref's don't just start giving these things as they see and booking players for the intent - players getting banned more regularly would soon see a change in this... It's been around for donkeys years of course but it's almost as though players are actually coached in how to do these things nowadays without being caught or diving to win free kicks/pens etc...

Forest were excellent. Looked a real class act. One thing which did impress me was the camaraderie between the two teams at the end. 22 players who had battled for the full 90 minutes plus and, even though Forest looked a better side, it did feel like two decent Championship sides going at it full tilt.
It was a damn good game of football. Bring on Burnley.

Camp had come flying out of his goal and hadn't even got back to his box - Jordan was just about it throw it to Ward who would've had an empty goal to aim at - no guarantee's he'd have scored and was a fair way out - but surely a goalscoring opportunity to a certain degree that he's denied by effectively spearing Jordan.

We're still 3 or 4 players light if we want to get up to Forest's standard. We're about, 6,000 fans, 11 years, and a rich Kuwaiti family away as well... I'd rather have Dean Hoyle though than any foreign based owner.

From the Forest forum, discussing how we Town fans have read the game: "It's a fair assessment from their fans. They do seem worried about their own chances though on the back of the game. To be honest, I don't think they'll come up against a harder team to play at their ground all season. Most teams will come out and play on the counter whilst last night they had to contend with a team playing at their pace. There also aren't many teams who are actually better than us home and away. Consider the last couple of seasons in this division - how many teams would have beat us last night? Swansea when they tonked us in the league game prior to play-offs? Blackpool when they were on top form? Newcastle. Look where they all went. Huddersfield won't play many better teams this year, taking a draw of us is a decent (totally undeserved!) result for them. They'll comfortably avoid relegation this season. Scannell, Hunt, Rhodes, Norwood, Clayton - All good players." Made me smile reading that, as it is what I thought at the time. Forest were on fire last night, I'm quite tempted to put a little bet on them going up this season, particularly if they strengthen further. link to their thread: www.forestforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=33324&page=30

I think O'Driscoll went a bit negative with his substitutions. Initially they were pressing our back 3 but when Moussi came on they sat deeper. Thankfully the likes of Norwood didn't heed the crowd's desire just to hoof it into the box against their dominating centre backs and played a good ball to Jack who did the business.
