I guess this is the right place for this thread. Basically I am looking to get a google nexus tablet in the next couple of months. I am going to the U.S. next month and wondered if there would be any disadvatages to me buying one there? I guess the charger will be different for their plug sockets, but I think its a mini usb anyway which I already have. It'd be a long way to take it back to the shop in case of any faults as well. Are there any obvious things I am missing? $199 is more tempting than our £199  |

Cheers Adam. From doing a bit more research I may struggle to find one in stores anyway as they are rarer than rocking horse crap. I guess if I happen to pass any stores I'll check them out but I am not exhausting a 5 day break hunting high and low.

I just ordered a 8gb one off google play and it took about 2 days to arrive mate.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago. I love it. Fits nicely in my handbag :-). Hardly ever switch my laptop on now.

Couple of things. If you are struggling to cope with the on board storage its possible to attach a usb drive to access films off the device(dead easy to do). Its also worth getting a cheapo case that turns the device off automatically with the flap...
Let me know if you need more details on either..

How did you get on Rothwell? Did you get one? which one and what do you think of it?
Ive had one in the past, but have the Ipad now but you can get some cracking deals

Got the 8 gig version. Liking it so far, the wife can now have the cast off iPad to herself. I prefer the nexus for its size (admittedly the ipads not huge in the first place) but I mainly use it for surfing/music. It'll be more practical for travelling with (plus its the same charger as my phone).
I got a case as Adam had suggested. I have also sorted out a workaround for getting the bbc iPlayer on it.........I feel almost geekish ;D
