I'm not exactly a huge Led Zeppelin fan (not enough blues, too much nonsense too often), but that would have been good. They should have handed out set lists at the beginning so I could schedule a trip to the little boys room during No Quarter. Actually, I could have gone home to Lewisham and used the loo at home and got back before they finished No Quarter.

The only band to sell more records than Led Zeppelin in America are The Beatles. I should have had mrs coco apply.

Did I hear it right - 20 million people applied for tickets? If so - fucking hell! If not - I'm deaf.

I read a bit in the paper yesterday about one of them saying "we had to drop the 'a' as we didn't want thick yanks calling us Leed Zeppelin" - thick yanks.

"Tons of Sobs" by Free was originally going to be released as "Tons of Sovs" but the record company made them change it 'cos the Yanks didn't know "Sovs" was slang for money.

It would have been better really all round if Jimmy Page had died in 1980.

Can I play Devils Advocate for a while?
No?
Well fuck it: aren't Led Zep the embodiment of the spangly body suited, spinal tap, over indulgent, over long guitar onanist rock phenomenen anyone in their right mind prayed Punk would end?
Im a little young to go over the details*, but give me the Ramones over Hawkwind anyday.
*old fellas, feel free to enlighten me

Zep are much more blues orientated grass roots than Hawkwind Richie. Hawkwind is Hippyshit...end of (having said that, they have done some pretty good hippyshit, but it's hippyshit all the same) I know what you mean about the endless solo's going on and on and on....It pisses me off as well! I saw Rainbow at the very first Donnington festival. They did 6 fucking songs in two hours..........6 For fucks sake!
