Oh bugger, it's suddenly dawned on me that I have less than two weeks to find somewhere to live and no possible way of getting up there to househunt.
Any ideas? Anyone got a nice, conveniently-located friend with a comfy boxroom they fancy making a few quid out of? I can bring my own futon.

I'll ask my brother if he knows anyone ... he lives in Haywards Heath, which is either West or East. I always forget

Catty, Sussex is a fairly large place. Whereabouts? I bet it's Brighton in a school for gayers.

I've never been to Sussex. Tell me what it's like when you get there.

Sithy- is 'wanting to get a job' mental?
It's on the Old People Coast. Bexhill-On-Sea.

Don't be mean. Hardly any of you bothered to say well done on finally getting a job, so I'm going to say that only those people have the right to slag off where it is. And they're probably too nice to anyway. The rest of you suck and I hope you all lose your jobs and have to move to somewhere I think is shit, so ner.

Bexhill never looked better than at the end of Children of men when it was having the living snot blasted out of it

without knowing much about the south (i try to know as little as possible) isn't it true to say that the only way to go "up" to Sussex is from France?
Sussex is as southern as the antartic in my mind, you can't go up to it from the UK, you can only go down to it.

Is that Catty? Congrats Catty.
My uncle lives near Goring...it is very very old there. If you want young then you've a choice of Brighton or...er...Brighton.

Spent a lot of my life is Sussex - but none in Bexhill. I'm sure it's ok in an old/traditional kind of way. Did my post office training in nearby Hastings
I know loads of people in Sussex - but none particularly near Bexhill. Mostly Hove and Brighton, so I can't help
As one who congratualted you on the job - I will do it again publically - Well Done from the Larks

My aunt and cousins used to live in Bexhill, so we spent quite a lot of time there every summer. So what Pear said.

Brighton is a nice place to live and has quite a young vibe about it. Thats the only place I would consider. My dad used to live in Hayward Heath, it's a bit dull, even he moved out.
If you like British wine then Sussux is the place to be.

Brighton is over rated, Hastings is a dump and all the best people live in West Kent. There will be no arguments about these facts.
Give my regards to Bexhill Flo', you're bound to meet her at some point. Everybody does.

Well done Catfish. I seem to have missed out on this somewhere.
One of my friends lives in Netherfield, which is on the outskirts of Battle. I get the impression its a one pub Hamlet where everyone knows everyone else.

Every league football club is north of Plymouth - therefore *up*

I've been out in Worthing a few times. It's not as good as Scunthorpe.
