you'd take cheer from the fact blackpool are going back where they belong, but, you know, division 2 is two divisions higher than where they belong so...
it's a tricky one. it's a start i guess.

You're asking for the wrath of the football gods to strike you down sith, which is what happens when you diss another club in the seasons run-in.Daley did it last week with Bornmuff now they've started to plummet down the Huddersfield division Is that Stoke I hear packing some bags for a day out?

They don't lie but our being 18th mainly reflects the fact we've spent most of the last 100 years beating nearly everyone in Division 3 (South) and rarely ventured into leagues where other teams might beat us.

15th?
It's all about perception at any given time. Most younger fans see Blackpool as a lower league team on a good run. Those with longer memories probably think they are back where they belong.
I reckon that Blackpool and Notts would both be in the 2nd tier if all things were about right.

Isn't this a more accurate refelction of things, covering just the top division. Which means Balckpool are still handily placed and Bournemouth and Port Vale aren't on it at all. www.rsssf.com/tablese/engalltime.html

Oi Bris. I think it depends who you associate them with. For me Notts County = and Jimmy Sirrel so that outs you in the top half of the second tier, I reckon. Blackpool, is Matthews and Mortensen so definitely a Top Division club. Boirnemouth is Ted MacDougall which measn third / fourth Division.

Yes. Him.
Wasn't he personally responsible for getting Manchester United relegated in an attempt to find his level?

i'm pretty sure that was denis law.
"Before the season was over, MacDougall had left Old Trafford, transferred to West Ham United, as Docherty set out to fashion a new United. In his brief time at United he scored five goals in only eighteen games. His stay at West Ham was short. A dressing-room punch-up with Billy Bonds following a 5–1 defeat at the hands of Leeds curtailed his stint at the London club"

Ted McDougall played for us as player coach when we had to apply for re-election under Alan Ball in the early 80s. We'd got enough points to stay up but they forgot to post off some registration forms. Cost us 2 points. Bear in mind that Bloomfield Rd to the Football league HQ in those days was about three miles and the incompetence just gets worse.
And some are moaning about how we might drop out of the Premiership, and that it's a disgrace.
Get some perspective.
