If it wasn't for those useless bastards in the last government spending billions on trying to find non existent weapons in Iraq, even more billions on the human rights act and even more billions getting us further into Europe we wouldn't be in the shit now,all that wasted money could have gone into the health service .Blair was (and still is) a total prick who should hang is head in shame :ranting: .

I haven't really looked at the sums involved on these 3 things you talk about but I'm not sure that money should have gone to the NHS.
The NHS already spunks loads and loads of cash without giving them more to waste.
They should have given more money to the banks to invest.

\o/ Want to invest in this bridge? I've got some pictures and I can take you to see it. I think more money should go into edukashun so that people can learn how to spell and add before they start having opinions

They should have given more money to the banks to invest. It is those tw@ts that put us in this shit position. Nothing to do with finding weapons (we know he had them because Thatcher sold them to him) Nothing to do with human rights. It was bailing the banks ut that cost us. Still, Labour will be back in 5 years time, tops.

It wasn't the bailing out the banks that cost us. That was a one off hit, not years of over borrowing. And a lot of the money in the figures that get banded about was guarantee rather than loan, so didn't leave the treasury at all.
The lack if available and affordable loans can be blamed on the banks, but what is wrong with saving up to buy something rather than the instant gratification of borrowing to buy?

Hang on Owlie, recent reports have said that this recession was caused by the banks.
I'm also hearing that the reason why we aren't coming out of recession so quickly is because banks won't lend.

I can't argue with that second point. You come out of recession by getting the people on the street to spend, but no one has a pot to piss in at the moment (which incidentally makes haggling over prices for stuff for a wedding easier).
I was referring to the deficit though, which is the justification for the spending cuts but was not the fault if the banks regardless of whether it not the recession was/is.

It has to be called climate change as it's a but mire vague. In the 70's is was global cooling, then it was global warming. They ought to be honest and say they haven't a fooking clue what us going to happen, and that stopping us having cfc aerosol cans has no effect at all.

Oh well. Nobody spend any money, everyone save and stay in this eternal recession. Nobody borrow money to spend unless you're confident you'll be able to repay it. Of course, it would be insensitive of those who are confident of their finances to spend too ostentatiously too.

People should go a step further than just concerning themselves about repayment. It should be an investment - sensible investments within sensible limits. The banks will lend under these circumstances.
ie Don't spank it holidays, i-pods etc...like most c**** that borrowed to supplement their meagre £30k Labour benefits package
Fuck insensitivity - now is the time to clean up on cheap deals.

No. I'm definitely down on the B Ark roster.
Course, we've got to tempt you down from your enclave in the hills first, maybe get you to stop believing the Daily Mail so you're not a risk to yourself and other people and off we'll jolly well pop.

I know for a fact that sound businesses with sound business plans are not being loaned to by the banks, therefore, holding back any possibility of growth.

That doesn't strike me as being a sound business plan for the banks.

There is no need to read to any newspaper to realise the sheer imcomptency and mindset of the last previous government.

So by your reckoning, if the Japanese disaster causes another global recession, I can blame it on the condems?
