Although stabbing yourself to death* seems a bit much to avoid attending a police station with your license, insurance and MOT... www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-12751227(*in the back, 20 times, presumably)

Oh lighten up, you big grumpy pants. You'll be making Elt look frivolous soon.
Don't come crying to me when Chas 'n' Dave kick it.

Given all of the current world wide events then there isn't enough sympathy left for Smiley.
If RBS can sort those HMV c**** out though, then maybe I'll give the Japs, Gadaffi and those Cockney 'Snooker Loppy' icons the love and thought that they deserve.

It said he never hit the mainstream after appearing in 'Absolute Beginners'.It didnt exactly launch David Bowies successful movie career did it-mind you it would of* helped if he'd been able to act.

Bowie spent his entire life looking like a complete c***.
He nailed one of the ugliest models ever to have lived and even a half dead Bing Crosby outperforms every Christmas.

Fair enough, Merk, you've invoked the sympathy rating rule, and as I recall that was what brought us together in the first place (re: some cokehead falling our of a window).
My ranking woudl be
Smiley. Because he was so Smiley, and I hate to think of him killing himself.
Gaddafi I sort of like, because he's utterly fucking batshit bonkers and looks a bit like Bob Dylan. He's also causing all sorts of embarrassment to the Guardian readership, after said paper published an incredible fluff piece in praise of his son not so long ago. And the tears of Guardian readers are as a fine wine to my palate.
The Japs are a way down the list because what can you fucking expect living on several very active fault lines. Build your nuclear power stations further from the sea, or employ Moth-ra to flap his wings to blow the fallout over China or something.
I have no idea what you mean about RBS and HMV, but then it takes at least two weeks for the steamer to arrive with the papers.
He looked pretty cool throwing Nazi salutes from the back of a Mercedes staff car at Victoria Station. And he made some brilliant music up until about 1980 too.

there's a fine tide of absolute cockwands happy that japan has gone tits-up as it's karma for bombing pearl harbour.
the world is full of absolute cunts.
and in local news, town full of absolute cunts with nothing better to do than pretend to cry over people they've never met wootton bassett is to be royal wootton bassett.

'i weep for the future'
fucking hell, not another one - what the fuck is up with you all.
Killing yourself when your name is Smiley is what makes it so fucking brilliant
I'm with Gadaffi too. They can sort out China first. West are nothing more than bullying c**** on this one.
Agreed on the Japs
I was 6 in 1980 so that is why he remains a c***..everything I heard was wank
you can pick up the rbs/hmv stuff on bbc

Holy tits - I'm older than Merk. All I can say is the years have been kinder to me. I wan't particularly aware of his finest work (Station to Station, Low, Heroes, The Idiot) at the time, but you know, what with the electric gramophone and so on it's now possible to hear artists without going to see them play these days.
I'm not sure I'm "with" Qhadhahffhfiy, but the criteria for The West getting involved are so arbitrary that it bends my brain. Why the hell we should enforce a no-fly-zone* when the Egyptians are next door and have a better airforce than us I don't understand.

I assumed that referred to his pies in an hour record.
1971 is the AWAG vintage year, surely? (though I was born at the most arse-end end of that year as it is possible to be born)

I always thought Awag law demanded that you pick a side and defend it to the death...even when you are totally and utterly wrong like Elt does.
That's why I'm with him.

Truly revenge is a dish served cold.
Stabbing a nomark reggae artist for a minor hit in 1984 is setting a new benchmark.
