I dabble. You need to touch base with AB_ I know he was considering getting it surgically removed at one point. He's got strategies. theories and game plans and everything, whereas I just fall out with every fucker and go to war. Bit like life really

It's ace, although I have to admit I never got around to getting Civ IV. Was good enough to win Civ 3 on Monarch level with pretty much anybody on a regular basis.

It's a game and I'm looking to tap into the intellectual resources of the brains on here to get dead good at it.
Game 2 and i'm using mich's tactic of falling out with every phucker and kicking ass with my tanks versus their blokes with bows and arrows.

It is on PC.
You can buy it from Gamesworld in Rochdale at a knock down price of £12.99 as it was a pre-owned version. Well, that's what I did.

Sideshow and MrDuckington are also members of this geeky cult.
Facebook is for Mongs but playing Hitler on your PC is cool?

i cant ebay as I'm working but that is one version of it i'm sure.
I've got civ 4 rather than civ 3 which that one is.
Before purchasing, have a think if you really want to get into a world domination turn based geek-game type thing. If it's taken over ab's life in the past i assume it's pretty addictive.

I feel I must admit myself to this clique also. This crazy game is even more addictive than Champ Man (old skool).
My top tips are:
Religion. Found one and spread it as quick as you can.
Oracle. Build it asap, gives you a great head start in the early game and enables you to pretty quickly get a prophet so that you can have a holy city to take advantage of the above.
Expansion. Play for borders early doors, put your cities in strategic places that stop your rivals from gaining access to parts of the world. Even if you can't fill them yourself at least you prevent them from tajing that land.

Your missus was saying that you prefer Civ to sex, or summit like that last night.
I was too emotionally tired to respond to her lenghty text, please assure her that I wasn't being ignorant.

Well starting a civilisation at the dawn of time, nurturing it to interplanetory explanation and winning land wars in Asia takes slightly less time.

I haven't played for a while. I think brispie plays.
If you want to be scared by how much it can take over your life I suggest visiting civfanatics.com - I doubt anyone with a real life could spend the time it would take to get proficient at their monthly challenge games.
I think I've kicked the habit as I didn't rush out to buy the latest CIV expansion pack as soon as it came out. Sadly I've been given domestic tasks to entertain me while unemployed by MrsAB so haven't taken the chance to lose myself in it.

Mrs coco got me an old new dreamcast to replace the one that expired, so all the pc games have currently been discarded in favour of Space Channel 5 and Metropolis Street Racer.

It's stupidly addicitive.
Moscow was conquered and raised to the ground last night but St Petersburg still stands defiant, but only because it was bed time.

Civ IV wouldn't run on my computer so I'm completely out of date. I often enjoy a good game on II or III, though I'm really not that good.
I lose interest as soon as the Industrial Revolution hits because it becomes too complicated for me to wage war. I have to either play an entirely peaceful game or kill everyone else by the 17th century.

I'm seriously struggling with this game and can't be arsed trawling the whole internet for guides, i'm an install it and play without reading the booklet kind of bloke. All I seem to do in single player games is develop develop expand expand expand get nukes and tanks and then batter the phuck out of the opposition. In the scenarios I struggle to beat it at any level above Chieftan. I don't get religion, I don't get all the economics crap, Slavery ? Free Market ? I keep building wonders and getting special people but don't know whats best to do with them, add them to my city? (no idea what that does) build their special building (no idea what that does) or get a researh thingy (know what that does but always gives me one i dont want) Any map with water and i get twonked as I cant swim, Any map with 3 or more civs and it grinds into a long drawn out effort as in single games.
