Watched an excellent French film (subtitles) tonight called 'Tell no one' Vicki heard it recommended by Michael Caine on the Wossy film show.

I saw I am Legend yesterday. It appears to be a remake of 28 Days Later/The Omega Man. At least it didn't have too much Will Smith grinning. And no chance of him appearing in any sequel.

I just looked it up so yes, duh to me. It is a long time since I saw Omega Man. I remember it was pretty scary for me as an 11 year old. I had a duffle coat at the time and the next morning it put the hood up to look like the infected in the film and scared my mum when she was dropping me off at school!
I am Legend is a shit name. Why couldn't they just have called it "The Omega Man"? The renaming is like Tim Burton deciding to call his remake of Planet of the Apes something like "They Be Monkeys".

I'm told the book is very good. The final three lines in it are "I Am Legend". Apparently this doesn't make sense in the film as they've changed the story considerably.

I loved it. It was great for minutes as he hunted down stags with his faithful dog and burnt around the city in his starsky and hutch type car.
Then it all went a bit wank.

I saw "The Kite Runner" last week - it was good.
I met Jenny Agutter about 10 years ago working in hotels. And I would of even then.

I really fancied her in American Werewolf, tennage wankfest.
I'm worried that watching the film of the Kite Runner will erase my fondness of the book.

Not read it Belly but the missus did and reckons it's a good adaptation. She's trying to get me to read "A Thousand Splendid Suns" as well.

I've not read that yet but the mother in law has, think she liked it. Did MrsGrove approve?

Yes. She reckons it would have made a better film than the Kite Runners.

*The Book Thief* would make an excellent film. I doubt they'd make it though

I enjoyed the Book Thief. They made a film of The Tin Drum so no reason why it couldn't be made.
