couldn't we have just waited for the cultists to post about it? Bernie is a cultist. He is more anti-Apple than the fanboys are pro-Apple.

But it's good to read a thread about Apple without that initial air of superior smugness.

Though the Cult Of Fruit are particularly stupid, I don't think even THEY are daft enough to crow about the fact that they are paying nearly twice as much for their aspirational ornament* as J Brad Cheesburger III Jr is shelling out for his. Unless their minds really DO work that way..
I'm not "anti-apple" kuk-oo boy. I'm anti-stupidity.

Whilst I won't defend the price, I will point out that it is cheaper and faster than its main competitor - the Sony Vaio TZ series. (I think.) Did you start a similar thread when they were released?

If there are people with more money than sense the laws of the free market state that an entrepreneur should be able to create a more efficient distribution of resources by parting such people from their excess wealth.

In the US or UK? And is the price difference more than the cost of a DVD drive?

In the US or UK? And is the price difference more than the cost of a DVD drive? You can get DVD drives for less than £50, so yes. Sony's laptops are over £500 more expensive. I didn't check the US prices.

I will retract the £500 statement. I just found one for £1256.08 - but it has 1GB RAM and Intel Core 2 Duo 1.066GHz.
