Would be utter madness.
hes not only one of our best players, hes also the source of a hell of a lot of our goals.
Ok , every player has his price, but january is not the time to sell your best players. If we got £3m but then went down then thats a terrible deal any way you look at it, and Hunt is such a key player for us , him leaving could make the difference.
If hes worth £3m now, he'll still be worth £3m in the summer.

Captain, I agree with Jack being a major part of our team and pretty crucial if we intend to stay up. Plus losing him now may hurt our chances of hiring a good manager i.e. Club's ambition, intent etc. However I disagree about winter being not the best time to sell. Some teams pay way above the going rate at this time of the year. Really hope we keep him though.

It might be he best time to sell if you're only interested in getting the most money for a player you can. But its a terrible time to sell if you're losing a key player and you're in a relegation or promotion scrap as you have almost no chance of replacing them with better, and you'd also have to pay way over the odds for any replacement anyway.
Can't see anyway we'd let Hunt go now. It would be crazy.

Deano has always said that our top players will NOT be sold in the January transfer window and i believe him. Pilks, pelts and rhodes all went in the summer transfer window, so i have every faith in Deano keeping to his word re Hunt . : :

He has won 4 penalties this season for us i think , that is incredible for a full back. He is also a fantastic crosser of the ball and I'd seriously think about making him the man to take our corners.

The priority now is not to sell our best players, surely. Avoiding relegation in it's own right is worth £3m.

If hes worth £3m now, he'll still be worth £3m in the summer. Unless we get relegated, in which case he'll be worth £1.5m...and prob less than a million by next Jan. If opportunities come along you have to take them, for the players sake, and the clubs sake.

I'd seriously think about making him the man to take our corners. I think this would be very foolish tbh. He's the quickest defender we have so best left as last defender. When Norwood has his head on, his set pieces are very dangerous. Not for me.

If a Premiership team want him he is worth £5-6 million.
We didn't get a good price for Pilks, Rhodes or Pelts considering what they are all worth now although I admit with Rhodes we didn't have much choice but to let him go. He will be in the Prem soon when Blackburn go into meltdown and fail to make top 6 this season.

Be a shame, but i'd take the £3m Knowing we won't be re-spending it on better players? Like said above, i'd only do it if he was loaned back..

Still 3 days to spend it, there will be movement both in and out according to the news network although money is suprisingly tight at the moment. hence the new focus on the academy.

Pelts transferred to Leeds for less than we'd sold him for apparently, I don't think he's driven his price up any more since either. I can't imagine anyone would pay Blackburn more than the 8 million they gave us, maybe in time though.

I honestly think that any Premiership quality player is worth at least £5 million when you compare this with what some clubs spend. A player of Rhodes quality as an established Championship and Scottish International striker is worth £10-12 million. I'm happy to wait for the day when he has been sold to a Premiership team for a higher price than £8 million as we also get a cut. He is without a doubt the best striker we have had since Frankie and some of our fans could not see this while we had him.

Man U have paid £10m + add ons for Zaha.
How does that make £8m + for Rhodes to Blackburn underpriced?

Considering a proven Premiership quality striker went from Newcastle to Chelsea recently for less than Rhodes went from Huddersfield to Blackburn I would say we got a bloody good price for him.

If opportunities come along you have to take them, for the players sake, and the clubs sake. Disagree. If we got relegated hed still be worth whatever hes worth now as hed still be the same player. Especially when there would be quite a few clubs putting bids in ( which i think there would be). Hed still be a championship player. If he stayed and played a season in L1 with us, then yeah, his value would drop as hed be seen as a L1 player. Either way, £3m would not be a good price for the clubs sake right now IF it meant we went down ( and losing Hunt would make a big difference to our chances). As for his sake- he can wait until the summer for a big move, whats the difference?
