if we sell hunt in this window for whatever price it will smack of cashing in. we have hardly touched the rhodes, pilks pelts money bar paying wages, albeit higher ones to some. the players we brough tin cost approx 1 mill, leaving us a suplus of around 9ish. wages and debt covers a lot of this but you cant tell me we cant spend big on players<i mean 1-2 mill>.
maybe dean is recouping some of the cash clark spunked, cant blame him but we have cashed in all our assets imo bar smithies.we are struggling to stay up and as of now,not even a loan in and it looks like lillis is in the running, cheap option.

Need to learn from Rhodes. Don't sell lastminite.com
Wait until Summer if he has to go - what's there to lose by keeping him? except our Championship status...and with it exitstence as we know it if we go down!
He did take an wful long time to clap the fans on Saturday however.
Would be madness to sell now, utter madness.

Unless we get relegated, in which case he'll be worth £1.5m...and prob less than a million by next Jan. If opportunities come along you have to take them, for the players sake, and the clubs sake. Disagree. If we got relegated hed still be worth whatever hes worth now as hed still be the same player. Especially when there would be quite a few clubs putting bids in ( which i think there would be). Hed still be a championship player. If he stayed and played a season in L1 with us, then yeah, his value would drop as hed be seen as a L1 player. Either way, £3m would not be a good price for the clubs sake right now IF it meant we went down ( and losing Hunt would make a big difference to our chances). As for his sake- he can wait until the summer for a big move, whats the difference? Cos if he waits till summer, and Town get relegated, then Premier League clubs are unlikely to be interested in him...because that's how they work. When was the last time a Premier League club bought a player over summer from a club that had just been relegated out if the Championship?? It's much more likely that a player in a promoted League 1 team gets a transfer to the Premier before he's even played a game in the Championship I would have thought.

Why the surprise? Hoyle stated a while ago we are not spending in this window. Come on Codd, surely you know as well as any of us that you can't necessarily take comments like that as gospel. Deano's an honest guy but I doubt very much he's above a little white lie for the benefit of the media and other clubs who probably think we've £8m burning a hole in our pockets. I think if we'd had a new manager come in earlier or SG was doing well we'd have seen one or two but in the circumstances it's understandable why no money's been spent, even if we could do with some new blood. Especially on the wing. Considering a proven Premiership quality striker went from Newcastle to Chelsea recently for less than Rhodes went from Huddersfield to Blackburn I would say we got a bloody good price for him. I agree that we got a good price for Rhodes at the time but you can't really compare the transfer to Ba's. Different ages, the premium you pay for British talent and more importantly the clause in Ba's contract and the fact that his career could end at basically any time because of his knees make them completely different propositions.

Especially on the wing. You just hit the nail on the head, we haven't got £8 million burning a hole. January is not a good time to be signing players as Hoyle knows so in this instance i'm taking it as gospel, the odd loan signing when the window opens possibly. I believe any manager coming in will be asked to work with what we have till some are shipped out, and good luck to him with that one.
