These are the "1 percents" that Clibbo was talking about I guess. Sorry Mel don't get this comment at all. If you're suggesting the club only had to improve 1% to have behaved reasonably in this situation then you (and Clibbens) are miles off. Their attitude stinks like three week old fish. HTFC are getting more like a business than a club with each passing day and what makes it worse is that (IMHO) they're the worst kind of business, one that takes their customers for granted & thinks they can treat them like sh8*te but they'll keep coming back (which TBF I suppose I do ). I've said before on this board, if I ever stopped having a season ticket it would not be sh8*te football that would be the reason but the arrogant and often unfair administration of the club (sorry) business. The club (to their very great credit and I applaud them on that point) have treated you and yours very very well but TBF I think you're kidding yourself if you believe your customer experience is anything close to the norm. Sorry Andy, you've completely missed my point. Clibbens last night spoke about finding the 1%'s that will give the club the edge, in particullar he was talking about the on field operations, but that will be a mentality that will be being driven through all departments of the club. It happens in all businesses - so it's not unreasonable to think that the ticket office staff have been instructed to look at every opportunity to increase their revenue. In this case, I'd say it would be fair to charge student prices up until the lad started working, and I don't agree with backdating the increase to the beginning of the season. As for the "getting more like a business than a club" comment. They are a business first and foremost, trying (against the national precedent) to operate with a profit. Can't really see how that can be discouraged.

I don't understand the "ruling" that the club made on this occasion. (Ignoring for a moment the attitude that was complained of.)
I attained the age of sixty, thus becoming entitled to a concessions season ticket, in December one year. When I came to renew my season ticket the previous May I was told that the price I would pay was assessed by my age at the date of buying the season ticket. In other words I'd have to pay full adult price because in May I was "only" 59.
Fair enough I thought, I can understand that. So I renewed and so it wasn't until the next May (by which time I was about 60 years 6 months) that when I renewed my season ticket I was entitled to the concession price.
On that basis I was of course, effectively paying slightly over the odds for half the season. Tough.
So I'm rather surprised that the club didn't stick to the same (sensible) rule and say, at the time the season ticket was purchased the purchaser was a student and so that price is correct for the remainder of the season.
Bearing that in mind I think I would be tempted to go back to the club, quoting that "ruling" and asking "shouldn't the same principle apply to my son?"
As for how the club treat fans - we can only speak as we find and personally I have never found them to be anything other than polite and helpful.

Hi Gareth I'm sorry to hear about your experience with us can you drop me a line and I'll investigate further. Regards Sean Hi Sean I wrote an email to Ann today, but saved it rather than just sending it which having reread it a short while ago was probably a good idea as I was, as you can imagine, a tad cheesed off. I will send something to you tomorrow.

I agree it's unfortunate but I have to say that town were very helpful in trying to find the thief who stole my sons wallet. It never turned up but John Robinson put in a lot of effort to find this and I can't thank him and the club enough.

This ruling does sound a bit unjust but I'm surprised at others on here complaining about the clubs treatment of supporters. In all my 25 years of support I've never once had a bad experience with any employee of the club, if anything I think over the last few years they've got even better. Never known anything but helpful, polite and and enthusiastic staff.

My mate was 60 last August a week or two into the new season but he got his ST at the over 60's rate.
But he has had one for the last 42 years ie since 1970 promotion year.
I always find the office staff very helpful.

Hi Gareth No probs - I'd probably be the same. I'm in and out of the office today but I'll keep an eye out for the email. Alternatively if you want to call in for a cuppa - Town Tea that is - I can be around next week. Regards Sean

Indeed, and credit due, although I have NEVER had bread and butter at a town game, more's the pity. I know it will be frowned on, but I tried to get a pie in the Fantastic Upper on Weds, and was served (eventually) by a fantastic lady - her first evening but she was GREAT! Thanks!! On the other hand, apart from my usual rant about the cost of stuff and the bl**dy awful beer and the p*ss poor selection of stuff on sale, it never fails to amaze me how they are taken completely unaware EVERY bl**dy week when people want to buy stuff "What, you want to buy a pie, my god, we just weren't expecting this!" or "Why does everyone turn up at half time?"! Useless Feckers! Rant Over UTT!!

More importantly, given Sean invited you in for a chat I'm assuming your reputation as a football manager must have reached the club. How did the interview go and when do you start?
