Not sure how Clarke can complain. Ridiculous clearance followed by a ridiculous lunge. Perhaps Hughes did play for it but if you're stupid enough to dive in so early then you deserve what's coming. Needs to drop back down a level

It was a terrible error by Smithies and under no pressure, I can't think what he was attempting to do. He did make three or four superb saves though so credit him for those. I'd like to have seen Danny Ward's penalty shout and Nahki's one-on-one effort. The game was ruined by our two sending offs and I'd love to have seen us play against them with eleven men for the 90 minutes. It was a hugely improved performance from Tuesday night - even with nine men.

Just the highlights but garbage from Norwood, Smithies and Clarke.

Looking at it it looks like he originally went to catch, panicked because he thought he would end up catching it over the line and attempted to paw it out instead, terrible mistake however.

Any ideas on what McClaren should do with that patch of hair on the top of his head.

both bookings..theferore sendings off.. both totally senseless and unforced..poor decisions about making challenges backed up by crap technique ....
the smithies one happens to all keepers at some point in their career, most a good deal more than once..wouldn't have ever wanted to be a keeper at any level of football.

Agree. I remember him doing that at Sheffield W a few years back, may have been the towel game. Got his marching orders there too.

What sort of drug fuelled misguided demon possessed Peter Clark at the precise time he was about to make that challenge. Suicide.

Smithies, Clarke and Lynch with three glaring errors. At least we're consistent at gifting the opposition goals.

when you spend most of the game in the wrong place any small mistake simply becomes a catastrophe fairly quickly.. Clarke is deep in our box, marking nobody...its not a question of "if", just "when"....

Not defending Clarke, the lunge was reckless.

Needs to drop back down a level Was on the train back to london with some Derby fans and they were sat at that end and said they wasn't sure that Clarke maybe contact. That is what I think the players were complaining about. Only seen it once and can say 100% their was contact, but it was still a silly challenge

Lynch booking for time wasting was very harsh but it it was a brainless challenge to make when already on a book (actually said to my mate that when Lynch got that first booking that he'd get sent off as you know he always has that stupid challenge in him)

its not a total misrepresentation of anything..he has done the same over and over again for the last 2/3 seasons..he is in the wrong place, too early and for too long..any error or deflection or anything else turns an aimless ball into the box into a chance.. I am truly sick and tired of watching it about to happen, its like watching a car crash in slow motion, its coming but there is nothing you can do about it.. ffs, stand up and jockey, stand up and try and lean in, ffs don't go to ground and lunge in, its too late for him to change..
in all honesty its not about yesterday, yesterday was just another calamity that was waiting to happen.

Shouldn't Robins at least have looked Lynch in the eye and given him some stick as he walked off rather than just turning his back and staring at the ground?

Get in your own player's face while he's all fired up, in front of the entire crowd and tv cameras. Good idea. Give him some stick. That'll help. How's that BSc in man-management coming along?

It's coming along fine thanks, sarcy twat At least I show some passion when I'm doing my job. Unlike Robins.

and the reason for that link is? More highlights than the first one I think! Just seen the Wells one on one for the first time. Such fine margins & all that. If he gets there a millisecond earlier, he can dink it over the goalie or take it round him. Different game if we'd have gone 2 up.

The Wells goal was good and the chance to make it 2-0 only IF Nahki could have taken the ball round the keeper who knows.
Smithies was playing basketball and got a slam dunk....
PC made an awful slice then dived in so late it hurt.
Into Friday vs Brighton then!

I don't think lynch likes playing his old club Brighton he was sent off before we played them earlier in the season

Shouldn't Robins at least have looked Lynch in the eye and given him some stick as he walked off rather than just turning his back and staring at the ground? It's almost a cliche that virtually every manager stares ahead and ignores the player sent off as he walks the march of shame.

Why does't Wells try to round the keeper? With his pace he should have no trouble. That's twice now (yesterday and Leeds match) that he has wasted a one on one when the keeper has committed.
