On Good Friday against Brighton we have Andy Davies from Hampshire who has never been a ref for a town match and this is only his second season as a football league ref. This season he has been in charge of 26 matches, booked 99 and sent off 4.
On Easter Monday against Yeovil we have Stuart Attwell who has been in charge of 2 town games this season both against Charlton at home in league and fa cup. This season he has been in charge of 34 games, booked 105 and sent off 9.
Lets hope we are talking about the ref after either of these games, should be better than deadman!!!!!

I'd say lets hope we're not talking about the refs to be honest.

Attwell dropped a massive bollock by not sending off Dale Stephens in the cup, I hope Robins and the lads remind him at every opportunity.

Correct! Attwell owes us big-style for the assault on Hammill.

Think he was also the ref that awarded the ghost goal in 2008 it might have been, between Watford and Reading (albeit on the advice of his assistant, though I'll never ever understand how that decision was reached). Anyway, hadn't noticed that Attwell had been in charge of 2 of our home games v Charlton. Wasn't sure refs were allowed to take charge of more than 1 game between the same 2 teams in the same season.

Different competitions. FA and FL.

May be different competitions but still wasn't sure they were allowed to. Obviously they are.

They should just let the Football League refs decide promotion and relegation at the start of the season.
They seem to get worse each season - time to adopt the American football rules and allow managers (coaches) to have 2 challenges per match to review controversial decisions with a guy in a TV booth.

I'd go with 1 to stop frivolous appeals but other than that completely agree. It's the same in field hockey as well.

Who's going operate and pay for the 24 cameras that sky use? One solitary camera isn't going to be much use using one angle.

The ref that sent off Jon Worthington at Altrincham all those years ago had access to more camera angles than a porn film but still sent him off and refused to change his opinion.

I see deadly Deadman has been relegated to a league 2 game, down at Northampton...

I see deadly Deadman has been relegated to a league 2 game, down at Northampton... They all do that though - referee all 3 leagues. IMO it should be divided into groups like the Prem so that the best refs take charge of the bigger games.
