Amazing job he has done at Palace. Just shows what a good manager can do with an average set of players.
It only tells me what a crap manager can do with a decent set of players. Not mentioning any names .....

2 crap managers have almost managed to get this decent set of players relegated. If I didn't know better, I'd say there was a pattern emerging.

Tad knee-jerk. Look how Hughes has transformed Stoke this season, doing a damn sight better job than Pulis for the last 2 season.

Strange results tonight
Would have been good to see Sunderland hold on. Looks like a straight shoot out between Liverpool and Chelsea and that game at Anfield will decide the title

No chance. If it was the other way around then I could see Chelsea winning it by going all out defence at Anfield. As it is, they will have to go for the win and Liverpool will just pick them off as they chase the game

There's no doubt that Tony has done a cracking job at Palace, but as Stoke fans will tell you, Pulisball will only get you so far.

Pulis did a great job at Stoke establishing them as a solid Premier League team via unusual methods - I will never forget balls being knocked out for corners for fear of Delap's long throws. However it was difficult to see him taking them any further. Palace will be hoping he can do something similar there, and he has been a cracking appointment thus far. Since he took over they are 8th in the form table with 33 points from 22. Has to be up there for manager of the year.

Chelsea for me. This is real pressure time from now on in and Jose's been here a few times before remember, as have some of his players. Brendan and his boys are in unchartered waters.

I think Liverpool have proven themselves by coming through the West Ham and City games with 6 points. That could easily have 0 or 1 point return Should be a cracker next Sunday anyway

Liverpool have one hand on the trophy now. It's theirs to lose. They can only throw it away from here.
Not in any way trying to jinx them with clichés.

Pulis is very similar to Warnock - he gets in battlers, his team (and footballing style) is not pretty to watch, generally tight at the back but gets results. If he came to Town he'd receive the same kind of flak that Warnock got for his hoofball tactics.

What would we rather have, one win in ten , soft midfield and no defence or a manager keeping a team in prem and winning games scoring 3 away ? Simples...

Listening to Danny Higginbottom on Five Live driving home and he was full of praise for Pullis
Higginbottom was saying that TP skill is simplifying everything, i.e. defenders are there to defend and nothing more. If a TP defender takes a second touch the instruction is to play a diagonal ball and clear lines. On a first touch they are encouraged to hit down the channels (if they can). If not take a touch and hit the diagonal pass. Full backs are defenders and stay back
They then asked DH about a Crystal Palace warm up. All the defenders in a line and crosses being pumped in, one of the defenders would call and head the ball. The commentators thought it was a odd drill. DH explained that Pullis did the same at Stoke, the drill was not about the player heading the ball but the position of the other three defenders who need to stay in line and anticipate the second ball, stay alert and not switch off
Whatever TP does he sorts his defence out and I believe Palace now have one of the tightest defences in the Premiership (which is why they are staying up)
Contrast to Town who try to get lesser defenders than Palace/ Stoke have to roll it out from the back. I do think we over complicate our football at times, are slow to counter and a bit more directness from the back at times wouldn’t go amiss

I blame Dennis Waterman for writing the theme tune and singing the theme tune.

Trying to get Peter Clarke and Anthony Gerrard to pass the ball around is plain wrong.

If memory serves from something I saw last night, they've conceded 20 in 22 since he joined, with only Chelsea or Liverpool (can't remember which) conceding less in that time. Think I saw if the season started when he joined, they'd be 8th.

I'd much rather Chelsea won it than the scouse shite, but I think them having Champions league fixtures either side of their game at Anfield could mess them up. Having said that, Liverpool have to face some Pulisball at Selhursrt in the second to last game of the season, and that could be a huge banana skin for them.
