Really poor defending. Three defenders in the middle against one attacker and he has a free tap in at the back post.

Hard to judge off that shirt clip but is it Gerrard who lunges his head at it and who's that nearest the Scunny player who just gives up?
We NEED a CB and a CF still IMO

I think they were all turned by the quality of the cross. The underlying problem was who was supposed to be looking after their right winger who seemed to have all the time in the world.

An opposition right winger having too much time or being unchallenged is unfortunately a regular problem. Dixon isn't a good defender and doesn't have the mobility required to play wing back especially these days, that said if he's gone forward/out of position shouldn't Lynch should be over there covering? Wallace to be fair to him just gets done by the cross and can't intercept it where as Peltier who is next to Madden earlier in the move let's him pull away to the far post.

I was hoping we'd show more steel against the Iron. Maybe we're saving it for the Blades.

Pathetic defending from the defence and once again our fantastic future England no 1 goalkeeper stuck on his line, making a complete cock-up....beaten on his near post......good to see things don't change...

Our defence needs sorting and I'm worried Think that will be the main priority for Robins with any new incoming signings, atleased i hope anyway! The defence last season were prone to some horrendous mistakes, particularly when Lynch got injured.

I hope you are being sarcastic daz............theres naff all smithies can do about that one! There was something he could do,gamble on the cross going where it did and intercept it. Would have been a stupid decision 9 times out of 10 but it was an option

That wasn't really being beaten at the near post. The balls comes across all the defenders. I think to be beaten at the near post the keeper is positioned and at least has a starting position towards that side of the goal!!

Looked to me like one defender got a touch on it and it took it away from the other 2. Either way not great defending.

Is anyone really actualy shocked at the defending? Yes and no. Yes because they're professionals and were all clearly ball watching not to have noticed that one solitary winger in the area on his own, and also no as this is town. Peter Clarke (as slow as he was) would've been more organised than that. I have my tin hat at the ready
