Or just maybe he isn't doing it in training at the moment and therefore not getting picked, this threads a bit "holier than thou" Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards But why isn't he 'doing it' in training? That's the point. He's not focussed on football, just going through the motions? Powell said he had some problems at the moment. As a new manager he didn't hang him out to dry but he didn't say anything as plain as 'he's injured'. Just don't be surprised if he's one to be gone soon either on loan or in Jan. Wage bill needs freeing up for powell's choices of reinforcement and we've already got 5 wingers at the club. I also think the writing is on the wall for Hammill. Even if you ignore his off-the-field indiscretions, I just don't think he's a Powell-type player. I could be wrong, but a skillful but ultimately infuriatingly inconsistent player is not the sort of player I see playing much for a Chris Powell team. I think he prefers more dependable players who he can rely on week in, week out rather than one who can be a match-winner one week and a passenger the week after. I think we'll be seeing a far more workmanlike team under Powell and players like Hammill will find it hard to find a place in that team. Time will tell I suppose.

* Adam Hammill is currently under going rehabilitation treatment and this is not within the confines of the Huddersfield Town medical room.

If Powell doesn't like skillful and inconsistent players there is no hope for Scannell.

ale...and anger management..
both sorted by the club telling him they will cancel his contract if he does not frame..both breach his terms in relation to his contract. Guess it depends how long the club give him..

Wouldn't every manager love consistent players, but usually you find wingers are the epitome of inconsistent. Powell whilst at Charlton signed Danny Green the tricky Dagenham winger so I would say that proves that whilst consistent performances are his like every manager's goal, they also like players would have the ability to create something out of nothing which the likes of Hammill (if correctly focussed) can produce.

I tend to agree with Andy above. There will be room for wingers who are naturally a bit inconsistent, but not winners who are in inconsistent due to off field antics or issues.

I tend to agree with Andy above. There will be room for wingers who are naturally a bit inconsistent, but not winners who are in inconsistent due to off field infra retina and issues. Adequate eyesight is the minimum we should expect, really.

Nevermind picking up on my typos, crack on with those financials and we might get to actually get to watch a few games this year instead of bloody wiziwig!

What's happening with the communication from the club to the fans? No official story on Holt and now this.

The whole reporting of injuries has been poor all season. It never has been in the past and it can't be that difficult to give a quick update on players. I assume Gobern is still injured, but nothing has been said about him in a long time.
That said, I like what Powell says, we've cut our nose off to spite our face with players in the past. Ultimately it is the club that miss out because of managers' pettiness and fallings out.

Was very odd signing a player and having no official notification, well the only "Official" notice was from the Wigan twitter feed

I expect that Town,as a company, are doing the correct thing if the rumours of Hammill in rehab are to be believed. I guess they are trying to keep it in house, the legal issues that Hammill could raise, as an employee, if the club publicly declared his current issues could well be a nightmare.
I would hope any employer of mine would be similarly vague with the truth publicly if I was in rehab to try and get help.
Doesn't mean that they couldn't have had a story on the official site about Holt's loan deal though.

Lee Martin's regular injury updates on the official website were always welcome articles. Wish the club still did something similar with the current physio, explaining current injuries to the squad (if they're physical injuries, of course).

How come the club doesn't keep us up to date on injuries?

How come the club doesn't keep us up to date on injuries? do tend to agree with this line of thinking. seem to recall there use to be a weekly phyisio type report that updated us on any player out with injury. not most important thing in the world by any means, but information that is appreciated to hear.

Perhaps because it gives some fans more ammo to shoot.
James Vaughan has a twinge/ niggle / slight strain and will back in training/ in line for recall/ play some part in the next match. If comments like this turn out to be inaccurate for any reason, then some folk will be nattered.

You could well be right, but Powell just strikes me as quite a pragmatic manager and players like Hammill might find it hard to keep a regular place in his side. I may be wrong but my gut feeling is we will become a more workmanlike side under Powell and I don't think Hammill, unless he finds a level of consistency he has never really found, will flourish while he's in charge. Could be wrong, but that's my gut feeling.

Modern day football is so different to what it was; not so much the play and tactics etc but communication. All football clubs have people employed to check the internet and social media to glean some advantage over the opposition in who's playing, what formation etc. Therefore HTAFC fans get used to Town not divulging any information about anything! It's the way of the world now.
