If Adam Hammill is being left out because of his off field antics he's ruining his own career and only has himself to blame. Won't exactly do his popularity any good as a player having to be off for rehab and I think the team cope just as well if not better without him. I think he's a great footballer though. Making judgement on his behaviour given the gf made it public I think it's terrible way to behave if she is pregnant. I've a lot of sympathy, such a young lass. It's quite an eye opener that some guys have said 'we've all done it' or 'done worse' though. Learning lots on this forum.

A stint in rehab shouldn't impact his popularity - at least he'd be trying to sort himself out. A fully fit Hammill would further strengthen an increasingly strong looking squad. Looking forward to having a bench of Murphy, Gerrard, Majewski, Lolley, Hammill, Vaughan and Wells.

If he is unable to play because he is in rehab??? surely he is in breach of contract and should not get paid plus is it not grounds for dismissal?? Not judging just asking.

you wouldn't sack someone out of hand and if they are important to the business you would help as best you could to get them straight but no I wouldn't be paying them when they make themselves 'unfit' to work...

Scannell as a player who will be out of contract at end of season looks like he'll attract offers in Jan. I'd guess with the way we do business now that they'd take a fee for him and slot Hammill back in, and find out at end of season if we got away with it.

I wouldn't want you as a boss, how is he in breach of his contract? This kind of thing would just go down under sickness, just like injuries, you wouldn't sack someone for breaking their leg. If it is addiction issues Town have showed a lot of compassion and care towards him if he has some addiction issues not to mention being very supportive. I think the club deserve great credit and he probably owes the club if this is the case.

Didn't even realise you had posted it 9 days ago, just that someone had bumped the thread back up. You are entitled to your opinion if course, not saying you weren't. Although I suspect its not breach of contract being in rehab just like being admitted to hospital isn't.

In the world I worked in he would have been in breach of contract by being unable due to ? drink of fulfilling his duties.I asked the qu. as I did not know what Town`s poliocy on his ? drink problem was.

It's not breach of contract! Is that in his contract? I only asked at the time because in some circumstances it would be.I also for the record would like to see him fully fit and back playing for Town.

Quite strange to think we've gone on this great run while missing quite a few of last seasons key players. Hammill for his ability to create chances and getting assists. Vaughan for his goals and the general lift he gives the team/fans. Gerrard in defence and especially in the air. Lolley and his great play and potential to be awesome. Patterson also did a decent job up front. Can only be a good thing for Powell to have more good players to choose from, and hopefully can help to keep the run going. Particularly looking forward to Vaughan returning and getting his mandatory 12 goals for the season

I dunno I wouldn't have thought so, town would have a duty of care to it's employee if he did have a problem like alcoholism! I wouldn't have thought it would be a breach or anything! Suppose he has had previous I.e the paramedic incident! but can't see anything like that being in there! Really hope he comes back fit and firing! He's a hell of a player on his day!

Our wide / supporting striker options are going to be ridiculous when Hammill and Lolley are fit.

No idea, from the bits he's been given up to this point, if he's gonna make it. Seems to play well in short bursts but tends to lose possession quite a bit. Been a strange signing so far.
