If what radio leeds are saying is true citing cant do the job under the clubs current vision and he stepped down and the club agreed surely the club needs to clarify just what did happen because it seems very unsatisfactory to me and im sure many more on here. Its a mess and perhaps Robins will give his side of events. It at least would give some clarity to the situation.

If you read the club statement it states that MR will always be both professionally and personally that will remain in contact with the club and DH. But does i really matter, he has gone. Lets move on and not dwell on things

Why would we want to stay in contact with him ? Bizarre !!! Maybe Dean might ring him for a chat if he's struggling to sleep !!

It wouldn't surprise me if Dean told him not to play 352 for which Robins consequently downed tools.

I think he left cos he had a HUGE PADDY!! He said it himself The fans had turned on him. No what they had finally realised is this 3-5-2 he kept sticking to doesn't work. Some teams can work it but surely it needs 2 strikers not just Nakki Wells on his own again. Every time Bournemouth. Had the ball 5 or 6 players attacked. We didn't know what to do. Ward is not a striker. Crooks is not a right back. Peel tier is not really a center half. Av we only got 1 striker again?

Noises coming out that Deano didn't see it coming at all and Robins came in and quit - thoughts?

After the sacking of his coaching staff, who where also close friends of his, I believe the writing was on the wall. To say this came as a surprize to the board - after calling a meeting after the game - doesn`t exactly add up.

Always going to call a meeting after a result like that, doesn't mean Dean intended to sack him.

I've no idea what actually happened but my best guess would be (short version) - Lose 4-0 at home = Board meeting, no surprise they probably have one after every dodgy result and have them regular anyway. Board "What's going wrong how can we change it?". Robins "I need 'x' amount of money to buy a quality striker and defender". Board "We don't have that sort of money, you need to work within the budget". Robins "I can't do that" Board "There's no option" Robins "I'm off" Board "No problem, thanks and keep in touch"

How about Hoyle decides to run his management team like a proper organisation. I.e the manager can't choose his own team. He doesn't get on with them and thus feels he is unable to work without his own men.
Alternatively, the players believe certain other members of the management team speak more sense than Robins

It is the first time I have have heard the interview and wow it is so clear how exasperated and annoyed he is with the players. He cannot believe the lack of effort on their behalf.
Robins clearly feels let down by the players but everything he says leads to him continuing and this makes me believe that it has been a mutual decision rather than him actually resigning. I guess he will have been paid off but not his full contract.
Clearly issues on both sides, but I guess Robins probably realises these players are either not good enough or they simply won't play for him.

Been saying for a while that all seems too comfortable for the players. They never seem to be able to put a few results together even when things were going well at start of last season. They'd win one, then relax and lose the next, then win again and so on. Almost like they just do what is needed to get by.

Dean said last season with about 5 games to go that the performances couldn't continue and that they lacked entertainment and any passion from HTFC. Robins himself said that it might take a change of coaching staff as they were used to dealing with clubs in the past who were looking merely for survival. Steve Thompson was Robins's choice as he is a positive thinking coach. The whole club were going into this season with the success of under 21's and under 18's playing good entertaining football as the model for the first team. Robins shot himself in the foot during his after match statement when he said “I’m trying to be positive at home and get two strikers up, but maybe we can’t do that and we need to be a bit more solid. We’ve done it before – we played good attacking football at times in pre-season – but we didn’t cope today.
“In the end, the personnel decide games and that comes down to their willingness to work, not systems. A lot of teams will play 3-5-2 and we want to make that work, but the players dictate what we do in the end.”
That statement shows a manager who wasn't in control and didn't have the confidence in what he has accepted as the way forward..The message this must have sent throughout the club must have left his position unsaveable and he knew it so he offered his departure and in my opinion the club did right to accept it.

He will have signed a non disclosure agreement and won't be allowed to speak out for a long time no doubt From what's happened over the last few months what with removing his back room staff there may have been the expensive risk of constructive dismissal I wouldn't be surprised if an amicable arrangement has been reached whereby Robins is compensated suitably and he in turn has to keep matters confidential He lost the plot in the end but he wasn't backed in the transfer market that's for sure Thank God that he wasn`t backed in the transfer market.
