Come on guys, ne brought in 27 players to get promotion most of which left for absolutely zilch and at what cost on wages. Once promoted he couldn't sustain it so they got shut. Is that really a proposition? Its a gamble and bloody poor one at that.

Is that really a proposition? Its a gamble and bloody poor one at that. He was working under very difficult circumstances before his sacking... With Dean Hoyle, who will no doubt fully support and back him, who knows? Why you'd write him off before he even starts (if he is to be our next manager) is just stupid.

I believe any appointment is a gamble but would Chris Powell being made our manager really mean you would judge him and that decision as being sooooo bad that you refuse to attend our games. I would hardly class that as an act of a supporter of a football club.

Not read all this thread and know this has been bubbling for a while but, seriously, Chris Powell. FFS. Can't we do better than an unemployed failure? How inspiring is that? If he is appointed that is why we are HTAFC and always will be. We are better than Powell, who at the very best is a big gamble and bigger than we need to be taking.
If he is appointed I shan't be wasting any more of my money at the turnstiles this year. Just a questionto you?. what qualifies you to make such a statement /FOR ME POWELL WOULD BE A GOOD CHOICE ALTHOUGH LENNON WOULD BE MY FIRST.What level have you played or coached to make such a statement? Im sure many will want to know.

Always thought his teams looked well organised, and he was a Prem level defender, so should reduce our goals against. He will get my 100% support, as long as he is our manager. And virtually all of the candidates are unemployed that's why they're applying for the job.....

He got them to 9th only 3 points off the playoffs not a bad effort at all, okay they were bottom when he got fired but they were difficult circumstances he was dealing with.I think he'd be a good appointment although Lennon would be first choice but don't think we can attract him.

Powell is seems to be a well organised and studious coach but my feeling is his initial success at Charlton was based on the feel-good factor his appointment created with him being a hero there - rather than necessarily being an inspirational manager...but he must still have something about him.
Just don't think he would be great fit for Huddersfield town but lets see what happens.

This has all started up again since the 6:0 pm Calendar news, where they stated it was near as dam it nailed on.
Since then the odds have gone ballistic.
I could be wrong.

id support Baden-Powell if he got us winning.. dib dib..
its always hit and miss..
I guess if we had 3 points more he would be coming into a reasonable start at a club who have a few quid to spend on loans.
its a fine line..

Probably a lot higher than you would ever aspire to, then again you seem to aspire to Powell so I assume your aspirations are low. Flip the question slightly away from is Powell good enough for HTAFC. What club is Powell good enough for? And there is your answer. Not very many or he would have been employed by now. He did have the support of his board, 27 players worth and he wasted pretty much every penny. I could think of a few worse but not many. FFS, POWELL!!!! Get real

There are a lot unemployed at the moment not unemployable! If Powell is that good why on earth has no one snapped him up. Cos' he don't cut the mustard and has little appeal in any division. If Hoyle appoints him I would seriously wonder if he is looking for a way out based on his recent comments. If Hoyle appoints him we will be laughing stock. If Hoyle does not appoint him will Carlisle et al coming calling? No, they would not be interested and he would be unemployable for years.
