I'm definitely in. Charlton were mid table in lge one when he took over and gained 101 points the season after, then finished 9th with a very modest budget for the championship. Ok, he left them bottom, but with about 5 games in hand and on a good FA cup run. If he'd kept his job I bet they wouldn't have gone down, just like they didn't with the fella who is in charge now. I'm in. Sadly I don't think it will be him. Just to point out the chap who saved them from the drop, Riga, also got the boot and they brought this bloke in. Charlton seemed to be a club in a little turmoil last season, I wouldn't judge Powell too harshly on that. he looks even better next to mcleish and davies imo

I think judging a manager at a club in turmoil can prove to be quite wise sometimes, not always though. If a manager proves himself while the rest of the club is all over the shop, it can show how good he really is. I think it can also show who the very weak managers are, and in my opinion McDermott did himself no favours at Leeds, where he constantly blamed the club being in turmoil as to the reason the team were doing so rubbish, despite him actually having a massive budget, paying ridiculous wages out and not being able to motivate those players to work for him. Powell certainly came out of Charlton with more credit than Mcdermott did out of Leeds in my opinion.

Paddy Power moved slower than the rest
At 11:32 were 8/1 per odds checker. 13 minutes later had him 5/6 then 18 minutes later 4/7.
It appears someone knows something (or at least thinks they know something).

It's the board and players who've been introduced to him down at Canalside all popping off to Coral on Leeds Road to put few thousand quid on him

Powell is in poll position. Decision hasn't been made yet contrary to those 'in the know' on here.

heard Lennon is deans number one choice. If powell is in poll position then fair play, but there are a few twists and turns in this one yet.

Except his isn't called an 'in the know' claim cos that would make him just like everybody else claiming to be 'in the know' So HIS 'in the know' is FACT... ok?

I'll be suited when we are all in the know. Me I still "pin my colours" happily to Powell or Houghton.
