I'm planning on going as I'll be down that way - is it pay on the gate though?

I'm going. Got my ticket and travel already. Looking forward to it. I've read (on footballgroundguide)that the best/only pub is at a nearby hotel. There isn't much to offer at the Majewski as it's in a retail park style location.

I'm going as I live not too far away so the best pub is the anchor on Queens road.

I'm going never been before anyone know where the best place to park is? There's car parking on the road taking you into reading, just a short walk from the ground. I used it last year and I don't recall it being overly expensive, plus there's some portaloos on the site if you've drunk too much pop on the way down. Nice ground and the staff there are excellent, it's a shame it's not a Saturday fixture as I would have gone again. Prepare to cringe at he stadium announcer though - " let's back the boys and make some noise".

For various reasons I'm taking the wife to the game. She has been to a handful of games before and never seen them lose (and neither has she shown any discernible interest in proceedings).

Best pub in Reading is the Nags Head not far from Reading West station. Loads of ales, all at about £12 for a four pint pitcher. Plenty of Sky Sports tv's. Wasted a few Saturdays in there in the past.

Taking my 17 year old son I must be mad all I'll have on the way down is him complaining about me listening to radio 2. Think I might annoy him with some classic rock cds (saxon, deep purple, sabbath, maiden).

Looks like they have a few injury problems and some of the recent signings aren't match ready yet. Might not be that bad a time to play them, maybe a sneaky away point?
