Antonio is a prick. Diving trying to get a free kick when no one was around him!
The rest were just ok I suppose, wasn't a great game if im honest.

They were a notch above us and I think they'll go up automatically.
Once Antonio had done that stupid dive he got some stick for a couple of missed chances.

the 2 centre backs were far too good for us, the rest were ok in quite a passionless game which lacked any great intensity. If you play someone else who does not mark Lansbury at all in 90 minutes, Forest may do very well indeed..

If you play someone else who does not mark Lansbury at all in 90 minutes, Forest may do very well indeed.. Their centre-backs were imperious, but we never really put them under any pressure. Mancienne looked like Beckenbauer, when in reality he is actually quite an error-prone centre-back who is frequently caught out positionally. Some of his defending for Hamburger SV last year was comical. Still, he's at an age where he can develop. They looked a good, well-organised outfit and their second choice midfield were tidy and efficient. They'll certainly finish near the top this year.

Antonia was a handful, had one or two chances and maybe should have done better with them. Forest looked impressive. Good start to the season for Wednesday I notice, reckon you'll keep it up ?

midlander.. their centre backs were playing against Jon Stead.. however they won everything, covered each other and the full backs and brought the ball out very well.(we did let this happen and it might be interesting to see them play a team that presses them more) but you can only play whats in front of you.
forest were able to keep width right up and down the pitch simply because they fully trust their centre halves and the full backs and midfielders are not continually dropping back on them or covering behind them.

I know and I agree with you. That's the crux of the Lillis system though. Very little pressure applied to the back four means all the time in the world to bring the ball out. They had a team of eleven good footballers. Even the big lad up top had a decent touch. They trusted eachother with the ball and had oceans of space to play at their pace, just waiting for the moment to pick us off. The fact that we held them so long was due to diligent defending and sitting back and impressively keeping a shape which made us tricky to break down.

Pressured the Reading back four enough to cause two goals and keep them on the back foot.

pressurising once in a couple of games is a start.. we do need to play that type of game, its just a fact.. the intensity and work rate cannot drop because the better teams in this league will do us if we don't keep it going.. I give you forest last night.
