On Wayne Rooney with respect to the Rooney Rule: " Wayne Rooney has revealed that he has received managerial job offers in both England and the MLS" whilst still playing and not qualified to do so. " There's already offers which have been made, but at the minute I'm still a player and I want to enjoy playing, and then I'll see which offers are right when I do finish.
"There's an opportunity for me to go into management straight away, and when I do hang my boots up, that decision will be made on what the ambition of the club is first of all, and what my ambitions are and what's right for both myself and that particular team.
I think it's brilliant for Frank, but also for any young English players, or players who've just finished playing, to see big teams like Chelsea giving Frank an opportunity to prove himself". The arrogance of those statements aside, in conjunction with the Lampard and Gerrard situations (particularly the former), I make no wonder 'rules' like this are being introduced. It won't be long before there are calls for rules to interview persons of a certain experience and age too. LINKP.S. there is a slight element of bias in the above because despite what the numbers say, I have always believed Rooney to be hugely overrated - he never lived up to his potential. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_RooneyI suggest you read the honours part. Won everything at club level. Champions League, Europa League and also FIFA Club World Cup etc Individual honours there are so many Records broken, many too. Imagine not filling your potential and winning all that.... load of shite mate. He filled it, it was unfortunate he was around in the time of Messi and Ronaldo who are not human

Are there any statistics that show what the percentage of qualified black & ethnic minority coaches there are? If there is 1% or 10% of the total qualified then we should expect at least an equivalent proportion to be employed.
What we shouldn’t do however is force rules so that there is over and above as this would be unfair to the qualified non B&EM coaches and managers.

Not sure thats a fair comparison. Ronaldo came through as this slender boyish lad and developed over time into an incredible natural athlete. Rooney is a stocky physical lump and has been from an extremely young age. Probably had a hairy back at 13. Different players peak physically at different ages and Rooney was very young. When people say he didn;t reach his potential, i think in his case the problem is he already had, just at an unusually young age. Im not surprised hes had management offers already. If youre the owner of a club going nowhere quickly down the pyramid, then the prospect of employing a global superstar, with all the media, corporate, sponsor and public interest it would bring must be very tempting, regardless of whether hed be a good manager or not.

Ok, don't compare the two, but do you think Rooney has ever been at the peak of his potential physical fitness as an athlete? Anybody can have a six pack if they train and eat right, literally anybody, lump or not. Hefele doesn't look like he should be but the blokes shredded. Rooney hasn't dedicated himself to his peak for me.

I think he'll be one of those lads who gets fat pretty quickly when he stops playing

He’s English. No matter how it’s seen, English mentality can kick in footballer or not. Foreign players are different, especially Spanish, Portuguese and argentinians. Brazilians not so...... other ronaldo being one. Ronaldo and Messi have great families. Rooney family is a tad different I’d say
