Reading the other thread re Stadium catering, I'm obviously not able to experience the delights on offer. However, I was early last night so called in at Canalside to eat. I had the meat and potato pie (made by the club chef Ray yesterday afternoon from farm shop sourced ingredients!) and have to report it was delicious and very well priced, imo Unfortunately, I was unable to have a pint of hand-pulled with it And no, I'm not on commission etc but would encourage anybody to try it to further support the club

The club is missing a massive trick with Canalside. It should be having two Town nights a week. Ex-players, chats, talks, quizzes (like the Supporters club use to do at Leeds Road). Show old footage, games. "Meet Nigel" once a month hardly gets the pulse racing. Not met a Town player socially in 15 years...used to drink with them all

Is there actually anywhere to sit to eat said Meat and Spud pie on a matchday, as i'm hearing reports of tables filled sky high with uncollected empties..

Have to agree food is top notch.Ray and his team have done well there. Always friendly service, great prices as is the bar too. Sky sports on too.Could do with seasonal refreshes to keep menu updated but I'm sure Ray will be on that. Some days difficult to get a seat in there with local businesses coming in for lunch and the bowling & croquet old dears . But its great news as a good steady income now. As others have said check it out you won't be disappointed

I had to eat my cheesy chip butty next to Herbert chapmans head last night!! Knock down the gym and build a dining area I say!! :-)

Sound like a fair recommendation. I will take my kids there tomorrow for lunch. The menu looks fine and the price better than reasonable.
