I think it's more a case of tell Nakhi Wells that it doesn't matter, he's a goalscorer and will always score goals, but to score some you've got to miss some - very fine margins otherwise he could have had a brace today.

Had a great chance but at least he hit the target. Should have passed to holt at least twice, and holt told him so!

What makes a striker great is an almost simple-mindedness to get goals. When they're in that zone, it's all they see. Yes, this sometimes means they miss the pass, but it's also what makes them prolific. I know Nakhi has a long way to go, but his mindset is very similar to that of the great goal scorers like Andy Cole, Inzaghi and Raul

Obviously thought he was offside when he spurned our best chance.
Added much needed directness when he came on.

Wells is that fierce poacher type. Yes, this can be frustrating - I'm not saying I don't scream 'pass the fucking thing' often. But, that's part of his / the position's make-up.

Please tell Nahki Wells that if he ain't going to start at home to Sheffield Wed then he might start 5 games a season at best. Also tell him he was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch today - but Mr Cautious bottled it and went one up top again.

One up top might work fine, problem was he obviously told them to stay back at all cost.

Don't blame him when he only get 15 minutes at home. He's scored plenty coming off the bench too.
We should've had him on for bunn at half time today. Points dropped by not really going for 'em imo.

He did have four shooting chances ... Hitting his main one at the keeper was a crime IMO .... As for Danny Ward. What does that kid ever bring to the party ? Useless

Useless Well he put the header through to Wells to smash the ball straight at the keeper which should have been our winner. Not surprised to see Ward taking stick on here once again however. Nice to have an easy scapegoat.

wells brought movement up front, he ran into areas for the ball to be played into. We looked better in their half the second he came on. When we play Brentford, who are doing very well are we going with nobody up front?

My very strong opinion is that he isn't.... I'd add Dixon to that list, I'm also dubious as to smith ..... The rest I'm ok with .... It's nothing to do with scapegoating its just what I think.. Ward had what ? 25-30 mins ? You would think he would be busting a gut to force his way into the first team... Bunn had been quiet the stage was his.... And what happened ? Absolutely zero.. Again .. Not scapegoating at all

When we play Brentford, who are doing very well are we going with nobody up front? Brentford looked comfortably better than Fulham - but then again so did we. They are nothing to be fearful of. I really don't know what our best team is. 4-4-2 at home and 4-3-3 away, or 4-4-2 against the weaker teams and 4-3-3 against the harder ones. Whichever I'd get Coady back to his more central deeper role. Poyet sounds like a good idea on paper but we didn't really have a problem there, now probably have a demotivated Coady and Hogg when it wasn't really necessary.

Nahki made a big difference and should have been on at half time for me , but his finishing and awareness of others around him was very poor. Nowt wrong in saying so either. He should have won it for us.

He had just over 20 mins today and in that time there was only Wells and Lynch who did anything of note (both good and bad) in that time. But Ward is the one that gets picked out every time. If he'd missed the chances that Wells did or started and played like Bunn he'd have been absolutely slaughtered.

Neither Wells nor Ward were the problem today. The formation was the problem today.

Not scapegoating at all Bunn was quiet because it quickly became apparent he couldn't turn his full back. He needs some experience to know what to do in that situation. I think it's maybe time for Peltier to have a turn at right back. Smith has been good going forward but he struggled positionally today. Thought Dixon was ok apart from a couple of poor passes. As a team we don't defend the flanks very well.

Wells may miss chances but he's a threat and will score goals if given starts.
It would have been a different game with him starting in place of Poyet. We may have conceded but likely we'd have scored.
Surely the right approach to take at this stage of the season, after all, we need people in the ground and playing Holt up front on his own at home for an hour isn't the most inspiring of decisions.
Maybe we'd have lost but they'd hardly scored a goal recently so worth the risk.
Wells must be wondering why he isn't playing, which probably impacted him and his desire to score / prove the manager wrong when he came on.

Neither Wells nor Ward were the problem today. The formation was the problem today. We did create some chances when Nahki came on but then again we looked a lot more open and they probably created more chances in that period.

Fair points if he hadn't been here for 3.5 years and still we are waiting for him to come good... You are right if ward had been as quiet as Bunn he would have been criticised... BUT Bunn has played 4-5 games this season which have been better than anything we have seen from Ward.... Ward and Bunn .. No comparison .... Similarly you are right ..if ward had missed that chance.....etc etc.... BUT Wells has earnt goodwill from the fans because he has proved that in general he is a pretty decent finisher..... Look ..the reason why we didnt win today wasn't Danny Ward.... I'm not singling him out as the only poor performer... He just wouldn't be near the first team for me... And I continue to be frustrated by him... If you don't thats fair enough it's all about opinions

Hardly special treatment.

Wells must be wondering why he isn't playing, which probably impacted him and his desire to score / prove the manager wrong when he came on. Agreed. And we didn't exactly look secure at the back either. Playing one up top took away a lot of our attacking threat, yet we still looked shaky at the other end. In that case you might as well try and score a few because we always looked like conceding today. Not sure how we didn't to be honest. As for Wells, his selfishness can be frustrating (as when he shot at the near post when he had better placed team mates in the middle), but its also a strength. Its what makes him a goal scorer. Today I was more concerned that we failed to control the game at any stage. We put some decent moves together at times, but they were sporadic as we didn't keep hold of the ball well enough. Wednesday dictated the pace of most of the game and we looked more like an away side. Before the match I would have said a point today was two lost, but having watched the game live I would definitely say it was a point gained. We didn't exactly steal a draw, but if any team deserved to sneak the points it was Wednesday IMO.
