Absolutely agree, surprised no-one's mentioned it before now. Far too bright and couldn't make out who was who in second half when the ball was at the other end. Hope Town don't go down that route for advertising boards.
Funnily enough was talking to my Bolton supporting friend after the game and from his seat on the upper tier to our left he didn't find it a problem. Maybe it just if you are at pitch level it gets worse. First time I've ever noticed that at a ground before, infact not noticed it on the last two visits to Bolton so maybe its new.

Thought it was just me but them fucking boards, you couldn't see the ball when it was in the boards sightline and as a glasses wearer, the glare on my glasses was getting on my tits.

it was the same last 2 times ive been there - its shocking - its only really when you're in the first 10 rows or so i'd guess but all I could see at the far end were a bunch of silhouettes running around with no ball! shocking

Never had Arty down as a glasses wearer for some reason. Aye, without em, I can see nowt. Although it's only in the last 10 years or so that I've had to wear them, staring at a VDU all day knackered my eyes.

By those ruddy ad boards flashing?! At times i couldnt see anything second half - awful! Said this the last couple of times I've been, pretty sure the brightness could be toned down. Anyone that suffers with epilepsy or migraine attacks could be susceptible I'm sure. I'm amazed the Bolton fans don't make an issue of it.

We all said we cannot believe they are allowed as we lost the ball on the ground at the far end and it must distract the players. The problem is they are so near to the pitch and at times blindingly bright. it certainly spoiled our viewing.

I watched this carefully as I had been suspicious of this last time we played there.
In the first half, when we attacked the far side, the hoardings were mostly white background (or flashing white corrupted screens).
In the second half, more often than not, the ads were dark backgrounds as Bolton attacked that end.
What rammed it home as DEFINITE attempt to influence the game is that in the first half, the "Macron Stadium" ads were ALWAYS white. Second half, as they attacked, the Macron ads were ALWAYS dark.
In my opinion, Bolton DEFINITELY try to influence the game with the ads and I think they (and other clubs with these type of hoardings) should be investigated.

This should definitely be investigated. Is anyone brave enough to sit through a video of the entire game and make notes?

Definately agree with this. Even my 7 year old grand daughter (who was attending her first away game with me) noted it.

I have sent an e mail to Bolton and whilst its unlikely they will do anything about it at least they know how supporters feel about their advertising hoardings.

When it got dark it was definately hard to see what was happening at the opposite end of the field. All you could see was shadows - no real idea where the ball was. I think the Bolton players are used to it but as a full back (left back, second half) it must be off putting seeing a player comming at you down the wing with flashing boards behind him.

I have sent an e mail to Bolton and whilst its unlikely they will do anything about it at least they know how supporters feel about their advertising hoardings. I'm going to do the same thing mate. It's an absolute disgrace that they're allowed to get away with it. They're basically saying they don't give a fuck about the paying public in the stadium as long as they get a few bob in advertising revenue. For those that weren't there, it's hard to describe how bad it was. The boards are enormous & when the ads are white, not only can you not see the ball, but you literally cannot tell the teams apart - all the players are silhouetted. I've been to Bolton the last 3 seasons, but will seriously think about not going next time, unless they do something about it. Nothing to do with sour grapes, it was just the same when we won there last season.

Decided to email; 1) Bolton because it really does spoil the game. 2) Town because whether it effects the players or not is certainly effects the game. There should be something on the ticket about this - might sound a bit odd but if you were there you clearly cannot see what is going on at the opposite end of the ground. it is just shadows - you certainly cannot see the ball!

Yup, every ticket should say "restricted viewing". I tweeted to the Football League during the game but they ignored me (quite right!).

It was quite blinding in the second half. I could still see it was a crap game though.

Never doing that again, our seat was two up from pitch side and couldn't see a damed thing that was going on at far end of the pitch! 25 notes and had no idea how there goal was scored, let alone who scored it!

Just sent an email to Nicola Stead, Directors PA so will post any reply I get. If we are paying for tickets then at least we need to be aware that when it is dark we are unlikely to see what is going on at the other end of the ground.

Just picked up on this on lionofviennasuite.sbnation.com/"1) The Bloody Advertising Boards
They have been a hindrance before, but now they're becoming a bloody nuisance.
They're far too bright and it makes following the action difficult. Indeed at times watching attacks at either end can be an exercise in spotting the ball which becomes virtually impossible when the ad boards are brighter than the surface of the sun.
Take Andy Lonergan's fine save to deny the Huddersfield player's point-blank shot - I have no idea who the attacker was, and I only knew that it had been saved because of the reaction of the crowd.
It's ridiculous and needs sorting. Fortunately it appears that Wanderers have got the message with social media contact Daniel Houlker acknowledging the problem and confirming that the club will act on fan complaints:"Not just away fans then (of course!)?
