Newcastle sold only 800 tickets for last nights away trip to Liverpool.... Tickets prices at £50! Monday night on sky. Absolute joke. Newcastle should have boycotted IMO.

£50 to watch the ref keep the fight for European places alive..good for business keep the interest going..? then watch Williamson and lovren both prove that money can buy you a shit centre half or you can save a bomb and get a shit one for very little..
Southampton must be laughing all the way to the bank at the moment..

Isn't there a limit as to how many season tickets you're allowed to sell?

theres only 2 ways that prices will fall Either an agreement between all the chairmen to set price limits or fans simply stop going and boycott games. No sign of the first happening so it'll be down to fan pressure if it happens. Im not sure there isn't too much apathy across the board to force a reduction though. For every fan boycotting, there seems to be one willing to pay.

If arsenal fans had boycotted the game since it's on Sky, it would have been interesting to see what would happen. £40 Leeds away next season.... Who's up for a boycott?

Been to thousands of games but swiftly fallin out of love with it. A very few people getting very rich on the backs of millions of paying punters.
Premier league payouts disgrace in these times of austere "all in it together" times. Sky just increased subscriptions way over rate of inflation - why? So they can pay the greedy agents/players even more FFS.
Now is the time to make a stand and cancel sky subs and tell em why when you ring up to do it - they gone too far and have passed the tipping point for me.
Championship must now be the most unfair league in the world - it must be a nightmare for Hoyle to struggle to compete wages wise with these clubs coming down with tens of millions banked from premier league and parachute payments for years.
Feel sorry for the younger end as I've got all my years of "enjoyment" under the belt and can easily think of summat better to do an a saturday afternoon - they haven't yet.

Liverpool tried a boycott at Hull the other night due to it being £55. Thing is team like that have so many fans who can't normally go the tickets filter down to them and they don't mind as it's a one off off. Liverpool fans who were eligible at the start bought kids tickets at £10 to prevent them going on general sale but they still sold abiut 50% at full price. While ever the above happens, clubs will still continue to change. You'll never get a 100% boycott due to price in England. Never.

I think it was £36 this season. While that is a rip off price even at Premier League level, it's a game most will immediately look for when the fixture lists come out and with it being down the road travel costs are significantly reduced. The day out at Elland Road is cheaper then other games and is therefore justifiable in alot of people's heads. The last time we won at Leeds I didn't buy a ticket until the Friday lunchtime, I justified it in my head by asking myself how much I'd pay to see Town win at Elland Road, I decided that price was about £50 so until it goes beyond that I'll probably keep going their. I think I paid £30 this season at both Forest and Cardiff, as I didn't pre purchase tickets but spent significantly moreon the 'day out' in fuel costs getting their. Still doesn't make the price of football at Leeds right though.

Still doesn't make the price of football at Leeds right though. Most aren't going though. We took around 1700 to Leeds last season. That's poor for our derby match that's 10 miles away. We took 2700 to Fulham, 2200 to Rotherham, 2200 to Blackpool. The amount of fans we've taken to Leeds in recent years suggests that people aren't prepared to pay those kind of prices anymore.

I have been many times and was so desperate to go in the cup about 8 years ago when we sold 6 thousand, ( the lad who promised to sort tickets didn't,t). I even went in their stand with my lad. But I won't pay these silly prices anymore. Fans have to say enough is enough.

Swansea have just announced that they have capped away tickets at £22. Great effort by them, just shows that it can be done.

Good effort from Swansea, to be fair with the size of their TV deal its the Premier League clubs that ought to be be in the best position to offer cheap tickets. As its stands it won't happen and the game will continue to milk every last penny out of the fans in order to pay the players and agents ever more outrageous salaries.

I'd go to every away game if prices were £20. Every club would make more money from people going to away games more regularly than once every now and then for 30-40 quid

At one time!! i would have crawled to the big yellow skip to watch Town but not no more. Its nothing short of a rip off and not only that, i just cant afford it, so now i pick 3/4 away games with two of them being in London and making a weekend of it.

Looks like Wednesday will give Leeds a good run for their money this season for ripping off fans, will be close to £40 for us and even more if we get put into category A!

Football is killing itself.
And we're all to blame. As long as we keep paying for Sky, paying for BT, and paying over the top to attend matches, then we really have no grounds to complain.

I've set my own limit of £25, won't pay above that who ever it is. I'm being deadly serious when I say I admire your principle, because I do. But I don't think you'll go to many away games next season if that's the case, sadly.
